I was wondering what blowouts look like? I tried finding a picture but can't. Also are they common when stretching to smaller gauges like 8, 6, or 4 gauge?

heres an old pic of mine when i was at 5/8"-
edit: the crusty blood is because that is a fresh piercing done at 8g.

its not the best pic, but the blowout is the extra skin at the back.

this is it now, after downsizing to 00g-

it looks worse, but the first picture is flattering. its actually much better now.

Thank you for that. I thought that was what it was, but I saw only one photo online and it was like a huge bubble.

it can look like bubbly shit too. they can be really disgusting.
i forgot about your other question. they arent too common in the smaller sizes because it is harder to push the inside skin out the back. the bigger you go, the more likely they are.
they are very easy to avoid though, by just not stretching like a dumbass (like me).
smaller sizes can and often to get "catbutt" though.

yeah i only have a blowout in my one ear (still) from trying to stretch to quickly. i eventually got to 3/4 on each ear and only the blowout one is still grossy, the other one is at the same size it would be if it wasn't streched
