I had a dream about blood cells traveling along blood vessels (the best place for them)...
...and then woke with the feeling that I had a blood clot in my leg.

That's what my dog does. You can tell when he's having a dream about running.....and...no blood clots. So there's that.

seriously, I think people who spend most of their time at work sitting are more likely to have heart disease. That's just a correlation though.

I think night work ain't to good for you either.

    Well, I am not a dog o_O

I would hope I have more of an imagination than a dog: running, sniffing butts and eating.

I have a feeling I was not sleeping that heavily, and actually felt the discomfort in my leg, my brain registered it and then I was thinking/dreaming about it in a rather literal way.

I will be cycling soon so that will get things moving.

Although I was reading about cyclists getting a numb penis when being in the saddle too long : /

    I have read that too.
I try and be active and watch my diet these days.
I lost approx 12lbs in the last six months.
I think the drinking and smoking may need curtailing though.

Sounds like your brain is working for you even in your sleep, though.

SO strange that you made this thread about blood clots. I have been very very very very worried about blood clots lately...ever since a week or so ago when I was reading a pregnancy book and read about DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) and how pregnant women are much more susceptible to them... ever since then I have been getting up every 20 mins to walk when I am sitting, making sure I sleep on my left side and also sleeping with my legs elevated up on a large pillow (above my heart)... anyways if you do feel something weird in your legs, sleep on your left side and elevate your legs above your heart. It helps prevent them. I'm personally so paranoid (because in addition to what I read I do feel like a pulsating feeling often times in my legs), that I'm going to go out and buy some compression stockings but that's just me and my paranoia. Elevate your legs and walk around if you're concerned.

I think you are more likely to get them elsewhere...
...and they will cause more long term damage/death (strokes / heart attacks etc)
I am not really concernered about them in my legsthe other areas I am though.
Thoughts ones drop you like the six feet under final six minutes.
I do try and sleep on my back with my legs slightly elevated.

    Numbness....where?

Idk, blood clots scare me in general. For me... yea, I'm more worried bout the legs right now but that's a pregnancy issue. My aunt died @ age 40 in the grocery store because she had a blood clot that went to her heart, so it's in my family to have that happen... but I consume krill oil and algae dha and other fatty acids that help to thin the blood and I exercise.. all you can do really. (and not smoke and stuff, but my aunt didn't smoke or anything.) sometimes I think if it's gonna happen, it's just gonna happen.

Do you smoke? Nevermind, just read that you do.

Smoking could be your problem. Ever try e-cigs? They're effective for quitting tobacco. They do have nicotine in them but you can get them without.

    I get mine from V2cigs.com

I'm a smoker. I went without tobacco for about 2 weeks then I had a cigarette. No joke, I HIT THE GROUND. My blood pressure skyrocketed, I had instant nausea and I literally collapsed. That tells me it isn't the nicotine but the tobacco itself.
