Sure it wont be the same and even they don't expect it to be. The thing is Travis is a huge fan of Shannon's, they're paying tribute to him everytime they hit the stage. Even Shannon's mother, Nel Hoon, gave her blessing and attended last nights show in Columbus. To each their own but many of us had been waiting for those guys to start making music again for years now, I couldnt be happier. PS: Traceroni, keep your eyes open b/c the guys have said that they will include Canada on the second leg of the tour, so they should be heading your way in late Nov/early Dec. Im sure it's gonna sell out pretty quick too
What! Shannon was blind melon. kind of how morrison was the doors. i'm apprehensive about this. Shannon had an amazingly unique range. If someone else can pull it off I'd be very impressed. I LOVED Blind Melon, so I'm really hoping they do Shannon's legacy justice.

It would be a cover band if it wasn't 4 out of 5 members and if they werent making NEW music, which they are. Don't get me wrong you guys, I LOVE Shannon Hoon more than I love myself! I wouldnt go to the vigil every year (http://blindmelon.org/shannon/vigil.htm) if I didn't. The thing is the guys have the right to make music together again, and yes to play the songs they helped create. They're honoring Shannon, not trying to make money off him (proof of that is the new album leaked and the band gave their blessing to anyone who wants to download it for free... if they were in it just for the money they would thrown a fit!). Give them a chance and if you don't like what you hear, well, at least we'll always have the "old" stuff For me it was weird hearing it at first but now Im totally digging it!
