Yes there's some blame to be put on Obama but if a list was made on who to blame for Iraq's current situation Nouri Al Maliki should be at the top of the list. Too many people seem to be overlooking him and dumping too much on Obama.
Fuck that. That US is responsible for destabilizing the country in the first place and putting these puppets into power.
we did destabilize the region, and we did put puppets into power. then, we got tired and impatient of war, and instead of following through, we began to ignore maliki, and he began to be more and more partisan. in my opinion, one of the major causes for the current crisis in iraq is US oversight. Look at the relationship that bush had with maliki. they were very close, and worked together to bring stability to that region of the world by means of democracy. i know that "US style" democracy was forced down their throats, but the idea was that the people would be better served if they chose their own leaders, so that everyone would be well represented and nobody was ignored. obama used the fact that americans were tired of this war, and instead of following the plans that the bush administration had set, he just focused on withdrawing the troups and did not have a relationship with maliki. this lead to partisanship and shifted the focus away from national reconciliation between the sunni and shia muslims of the area. and what happend next was totally natural, the side that was being ignored diplomatically took the situations into their own hands and rose up against the government that was ignoring them. it was totally natural and many people saw it coming, and i think it showed obamas lack of knowledge in international politics, just look at this article, dated 2007, hillary clinton saw this coming from as far back as 2007, a full 7 years ago! http://www.nbcnews.com/id/20406226/#.VC-qtRhJPbk
