What do you say when your friends talk too much?

Don't let the smilie fool you, I'm not that excited to read your comments.

 

i say "shut the fuck up, would ya?"...but with a smile...

 

I nod and smile or reponsed with few words.

 

I say "You've got nothing to say and you're saying it too loudly" followed by a swift smack in the face.

 

I just give em a good swift kick to the nuts......that usually works for any situation actually...

 

I ask them if they'd like some more tea- its the English thing to do

I have a rather short attention span, so I naturally just start ignoring them if I'm uninterested in what they have to say. It comes off as rude I'm sure, but sometimes I literally can't help it.

 

I'm usually just like yeah that's nice smile and nod and that sort fo thing, and go about my business or blow bubbles or become intensely interested in the most boring things that are still more interesting than their boring blah blah blah.

 

do people talk to much? huh, I thought it was only me......

dude.. im the same way... i piss alot of people off... but hell its their fault for not talking about interesting stuff

 

"yah-huh, uh-huh, oook" and then change the subject if I can

 

i nod half assedly, if it goes on for too long and i'm seriously not interested i just blatantly ignore them. but of course that never works, and when i'm on the other end i never feel the need to stop talking so it's really a flawed system... i have to learn to tell people to shut the fuck up i guess.

 

I say,

Hey lets play that game where you dont say anything.


works every time.

 

I usually just tell them to shut up.

 

I interrupt them and talk incessantly till their eyes glaze over.

They get the point.

 

"Are you still talking?" Pause. "OK, just making sure."

They usually look at me really confused-like.

 

I have a drink or two and join in the fun and talk their ear off back...it takes some booze or smoking for me to be a talker in person. I don't mind though I only maintain friendsships with people I really like and enjoy being around and find interesting because I'm kinda anti social.

 

It doesn't bother me because I am one of those people who talk too much, so to find another person like me is always a good thing, as long as they let me talk too.
