This weekend I'm off for a trip to Blackpool. Blackpool, for those of you who don't know, is the North's answer to Las Vegas, except with more depravity and drinking. And more silly accents. And did I mention the depravity? Anyway, it came to my attention that this aspect of the UK has been neglected in the UK photo gallery. We have Hyde Park, we have the changing of the guards, we have Avebury, but we don't have a picture of the tower or the donkey rides, or that little kid who is always running around after the pigeons and eating an ice cream that's nearly bigger than his head. So, as a little project, I'm thinking about taking a camera and having the developers put the pictures onto a CD for posting on the internets. Which is where you guys come in. What part of Blackpool would you like to see in the photo gallery? I'm an uncreative sod, so I can only think of the tower and the donkeys. It's up to you guys to suggest things I should take photos of. I'll do my best to get the photos you request. Please don't say anything like "A photo of Blackpool from the top of the Pepsi Max 'Big One' rollercoaster before the big drop", because I'm shit scared of rollercoasters. Hey, if I have any money left after a weekend of drinking myself stupid...umm...drinking myself stupider...I'll buy some sticks of Blackpool rock and give them away in a Hipforums Competition. i've not ever been to blackpool, but i have a vague recollection of there being water there. (sea maybe?) lights bouncing off water is always good, specially just before the sky gets really really dark.
could you take a picture of the overpowering translucent stench of vinegar and rotting ketchup please? or maybe catch the aura glow reflected in argos gold from tangerine orange foundation framed against skimpy white cloth? ~
Right...I'm gonna make a list of all these things, and cross them off the list when I successfully get a photo of them. That way, I don't miss anything. Haha, the UK Photo gallery is gonna rock
what i would like most of all..and ill get really upset if i never saw a photo of this would be.. A photo of Blackpool from the top of the Pepsi Max 'Big One' rollercoaster before the big drop.. it would really make my year to see that...you dont know how much it would mean to me either that or a picture of sand and water.. otherwise known as the beach...
Well, I can't turn someone down when they phrase it like that. And as enthusiastic as I am about getting that picture for you, I'm scared that my photography skills may not be good enough to get that picture you desire. So hop on the coach to Blackpool and phone me, and we'll meet up near the Pepsi Max Big One. Then I'll pay for you to go on it, so you can get that perfect shot yourself I'm such a kindly old man, I'll even pay for you to ride the rollercoaster five times, so you can get five tries at getting "that" shot

haha! Just found an old photo I took in blackpool one bleary morning when staggering out of a B&B. I think it sums it up quite well. ...the atmosphere there seems to have bleached out part of the film!
Damn, reminds me, I need to get those photos developed. I still have a few pictures left to take on the film. Any suggestions?
