I have it, single player is the best they've had in a long time. Multiplayer sucks, same as the last 4 titles... just different maps and skins. They haven't been stepping it up, just beating the dead horse of COD4MW. Too much run and gun. Music has spells where it's epic...and then it has spells where it just doesn't fit... Overall tiresome feel. I beleive this to be my last cod title. the brand is dead since IW is out. Trey will make 20 more games off this engine if somebody doesn't give them another engine. However, Great singleplayer story, Nice graphics... same old COD in different clothes. They have to step it up...With Iw out there working on one and BF3 in the works... more of the same off this game engine won't fly. They're depending on the Brand to sell the games and not the content within. Great singleplayer...not entirely worth the $60. Multiplayer needs to lose the arcade feel (x's) the last four titles.
I dont see why people keep buying these titles; like Lorz said, same shit different name. Youre essentially paying for a $60 reskin. The only reason I could see anyone buying this, other than single player, is because now MW2 servers will start dying because the fan boys are beating off to the new name.
No way, you guys are wrong. The multiplayer is much more enjoyable than MW2. It's kind of like Duty 4 and World at War had a baby and this is the offspring. The single player has been decent so far. But what I am getting really frustrated with is the online servers. They are HORRIBLE
Black Ops story is amazing.. i cannot wait to finish the game.. everyone so far that has has told me its amazing... and then the Zombie levels.. even better! online is ok.. but i much prefer playing GoldenEye online much more
People need to stop spending money on this trash. It's supply and demand, and unfortionatly there's no demand for quality in video games. COD4 was an AMAZING story, with very good multiplayer, with dedicated servers (I speak of PC only, console gaming is for small children, I won't touch that shit) MW2 had a story that would have been cool on it's own, but it made the MW story totally stupid and pointless, that price survived and all made the whole thing meaningless, it was a bait and switch. Then the whole story of MW2 consisted of betrayel after betrayel, like high school girls with guns. I've heard black ops has a cool cold war story, haven't played it. I assume it has a matchmaking system, in which case i will not pay a dime for it.
Call of Duty hasnt come up with anything new or original since COD4 which is why I refuse to buy or play this game. I want something new not a reskin. Im right with RooRshack on this, Ive heard great things about the story but I too wont be hoping on it due to matchmaking (and other reasons). Hate that shit
First off, I am not a gamer much these days, but I am related to a few people who work for these companies and I usually get these games for free and never play them. This is besides the point, but I can tell you that for a video game Black Ops is unbelievable. The story line in campaign mode is superb. From the CIA to killing Castro, it's unbelievable, along with the graphics. There is a part in the beginning where they take a helicopter to the Pentagon and when they get out to when they enter the building is just so realistic. Much more-so than past titles. Now the part that was big for Black Ops was not so much "new skins" as someone stated. Black Ops has an almost revamped multiplayer. From wager matches to a more expert game-play. No more spraying to get kills, you need accuracy, no more commando or noob-tube reloads with scavenger, or any of those other obnoxious perks that people abused. Basically this is the more professional version of MW2, what MW2 should have been. There is a wager/money system now, it's just overall excellent and far more realistic than MW2 was. Plus MW2 was getting old and this is just in time. The only thing I'd have to say that is whack is the 9/10 kids who edit their emblems to be animals humping, or guerrillas with pickle dicks...besides that I feel like COD finally perfected a game. Go buy it. All this and I'm not even a gamer, but I do follow the new titles

Funny, my friend was playing it on high def and 360, and agreed with me when I pointed out that it looks like plastic crap, as video games have increasingly done recently for some reason. It goes through cycles of there being a fad for plastic hollow sounding gunfire and play-doh tanks to realistic. Plastic crap, COD4 looks much nicer. Just no. And I'm now rebooting to play COD4 in windoze
