Basically, was watching a movie on YouTube with Katt Williams in it: Basically, my question from the video if anyone saw it: Who typically do you think “gets more laughs” in standup comedy routines? Black stand up comics or White Stand up comics? Katt Williams says “The Audience” makes a difference when performing standup: He said it helps to pay attention if you’re performing in front of a black audience or a White Crowd when telling jokes? What do you think? Who gets more laughs in your opinion? Black comics or white comics?
I have no idea how things are now. But back in the day, it really didn't matter. Richard Pryor got just as many laughs as George Carlin did. Comedy was Comedy, and it transcended Race, Religion or Culture. Mel Brooks, even though not a stand-up comic, made more people laugh at his irreverence in making fun of everyone on the planet. Why comedy has become segregated, I have no idea, but I have no desire to participate in a one sided routine.
