Who else here is absolutely in love with the only true artist out there: Björk. So much better than all this pseduo-bohemian, 70's revival shit with too much quitar. Much better this way.
One of my favorite musical moments is listening to Bjork and Yorke singing I've seen it all. Simply amazing.
she is one of my absolute favorites. have you checked out her earlier work with the sugarcubes? doesnt compare to her solo stuff but still good. i recently got her medulla album (i know im a little late on that one) and compared to all her other albums i didnt like it that much which was strange b/c everything she's done solo ive adored. i think maybe it needs to grow on me a bit more.
You have to love Medulla! It is my favorite album of her's but don't feel alone in thinking you need to listen to it more, for half of the Bjork 4um feel that way too. I loved it on first listen though. Have you seen the Medulla Videos DVD? It comes out in America on the 8th of this month, but I ordered mine from OneLittleShop a long time ago when it was released in UK! Triumph of a Heart is spectacular! I have heard some of her earlier work (Life's Too Good and a couple songs from her 1977 debut simply titled Bjork)and though it is enjoyable, it doesn't compare to stuff like Medulla. I love Deus though...and maybe She's Sick for Toys.
Personally, I prefer her singing it alone or with the man from the film. I'm not a Yorke fan, so he ruined that song for me on SelmaSongs. However, there are plenty of good MP3s out there of her alone version and the infamous Next to Last Song
I love Bjork. Debut was my first album I bought on my own at age 13. Didn't like Medulla. Post and Vespertine rank the highest of her albums, with Homogenic and Selmasongs at a close second. BTW, I like the pseudo-bohemian folk stuff with guitars. But I like Bjork too.
i havent seen the dvd. i dont have a dvd player! when i get one tho bjorks dvd's will be the first ones i buy. i love her music videos. im not a "music video" person, i find them more cheesy than anything but bjork and tool are the only ones who's videos i enjoy because they are true works of art. they make you think and i like to think
I just wanna go to iceland to see the environment that produces such weird/ crazy music. Bjork is fucking awesome and volta is pretty good, but it's no medulla. the tracks with tounami diabate are fucking sweet though. Kora is tight.
i don't understand stopping anything, post from above, but i do believe that bjork's music entered my life at exactly the right time. which could have been at any time and it still would've been perfect. my favorite song by hers? the one that took more will to make than any other. which is all of them, i think. that woman has the willpower of a horse. she's amazing. yay bjork.:cheers2: @manda
