Stoned fishing can be fun. :) just out with nature plus stoned.

Though I'm not sure I've had much luck catching a fishie, I think like them old fisherman tales, they can smell the weed on the bait. =p

Mind you i throw sticks and stones and I catch fish so can't take everything they say as gospel, my honest belief about fishing is, if a fish is hungry it'll bite. Don't matter what time, don't matter what bait. If it wants it, it'll take it.

I can't cast a beach rod I have tried a few times like in the one 10 minute session and nope. 10 meters and in a minute it's right back at the sand in front of me lol. Now you never hear it but honestly, rock fishing for puffer fish was more exciting than beach fishing.

I know if I knew what I was doing it be better though. Luckily no beaches near me, I can cast normal rods quite well with my big musket ball sinkers. :D

i never got into beach fishing .. my uncle tried to have me learn in key west . I wasnt really old enough to get the cast either and wasnt to fond of standing of barracuda waters ankle deep with spinner bait.

Time actuly moves slower in Bed Bath and Beyonds. That's the beyond part. Nothing but towels you can't use and shower curtains as far as the eye can see.

    The puffer fish!!! :D

From Law and Order I learned the puffer fish has a poison in it that can KILL you. I'm sure I remember that correctly...but that maybe there are certain parts of the fish that can be eaten.

Have you really fished for puffer fish?? Since you are alive, you couldn't have eaten it...or maybe you ate part of it?

I do not want to research/google. lol Am I not right about this highly poisonous fish? Please lay your knowledge on me. :)

    Lol!

Nobody wants to catch a puffer fish from the rocks but I bet every person that's gone fishing off the rocks has caught a pufferfish because that's all I ever caught and off warfs and bridges too.

They are poisonous yes and no I'd never eat one lol.

They're pretty tough creatures when we were fishing on the rocks we'd catch a lot and we didn't want to touch them to get the hooks out so... we had to find ways to get the hook out and it that meant throwing the poor thing on the ground and banging it against rocks then so be it lol. And still we'd lose those hooks and my prawns.

So, one I tied one of those assholes to a big rock and I lopt that over into the ocean. Pretty humorous at the time we though and laughed, it has to live there chained to that rock now. I guess it's cruel looking back it.. but it's just an annoying pufferfish no one wants and I don't even know if other fish can eat them lol.

That's just cruel, and you know it. May you come back as an annoying puffer fish.

I've caught a puffer fish before...If I remember correctly they can just deflate and drop off the hook? It's been since I was 14 yrs old.

I vaguely remember seeing it fall off the hook and my little brother being pissed off. Then some guys fishing near us laughed. His fish probably just swallowed the hook instead of the hook piercing his mouth.

catfish are like that...they eat the hook but dont get hooked

usually just reel them in and lift them up then touch them to the inside of the boat and they let go ...or a bucket if you have a bucket

I thought swallowing would be worse because it's going to get ripped out. Eep.

Like once I caught a little turtle and I was like hmm something at the end of this line but it's not fighting. So as I bought it up I saw the turtle and felt so bad so I cut the line and let it go and just hoped it could digest the hook.

I didn't know what else to do.

Something about catfish gross and creep me out so badly, I think that is why fishing itself doesn't appeal to me. I wish it did...but those cats that every body talks about catching, about wanting. ewwwww

They LOOK at you, and I don't know - have a head or something. gah

I never ever eat catfish, and I've gotten to where I won't eat other shell fish...I don't really know why. Know of their scavenging or something just gross me out beyond what it should. lol

But I LOVE salmon. yum [IMG] that's great to think about when you're stoned and there's not even any milk in the house. lol I'm drinking apple juice right now. I should be thinking about cleaning related subjects: what to toss, what to straighten, what to...what to. [IMG]

In and when trying to make one's existence resemble a semblance of normalcy but you know you aren't normal...is hard.

The way I'm able to stay sane is not by being normal. lol :D

Fish with big eyes freak me out too because you start to realize when you look into anything with eyes really, that it's alive and that it has its own consciousness and that's a deliberating thing to really think about because we pull these things out of the water or land or whatever, and we kill them to eat, or to furnish something.

I think you start to realize this as you age, well for me it happened anyway like I said when I was a lot younger it was different and I was different, a puffer fish meant nothing to me then they were like thick rubber balloons and fun to pop. I can still bet I got no feelings for a pufferfish just as I didn't all them years ago but I admitted the cruelty act, mind you I've known people who'd do a lot worse my first experience with a fish was my granddaddy and he bonked it on the head with a rock and both eyes popped out. This was my first caught fish, and I saw it eyes pop out. Well, I wasn't going to eat it and never really liked any sort of fish or seafood ever since.

Remember that zoo night we had over a year ago and we had a fish tank inside and it had one big fish and it's eyes moved a lot and it freaked me out. It was such a dumb fish too lol but yet, it was very alive and studying us.

We've two sucker fish in our tank and they call them catfish but I think a catfish is more akin to our red tail shark as she's a off species catfish but she looks like a fish and then has the little dangly bits near her mouth like a catfish does. The sucker catfish they are almost like diamond head, very acute angles, but big head like a big boof head.
