What do you think about Fox News dropping Bill O'Rielly?

If he plays his cards right this could be a big boon to his career. He can now come across as the outsider that got screwed by Faux News and all those 'liberal' advertisers and probably get a new show on Glenn Beck's channel The Blaze. I seriously doubt we're rid of him yet.

 

I don't know the details about this, but it doesn't seem right to fire someone simply because there are allegations against someone. You can make allegations against anyone.

Not saying that you have to have court conviction, but there has to be some substance

I'm not going to bother to research this

 

Advertisers were pulling out because of the allegations. I think the loss of revenue is probably the real reason he was fired.

 

I think it’s disgusting that Bill O’Reilly will be receiving a $25 Million dollar payout, equivalent to one year’s salary.
What kind of message does it send that you can sexually harass dozens of women, cover it up, and still receive compensation

I never watched him anyway. I did not agree with anything he ever said....so I won't miss him....and like hotwater said, that amount of money is a disgusting pay off.

What little I heard about it...he was paying people who accused him a few years ago already.....and settled out of court....Do you pay people if you are innocent?...and then it was business as usual...this time...He is facing the piper, for whatever reason. I am not that interested to really look into it much more.......It makes me sick the whole thing.

 

sometimes paying off a fake accuser is cheaper than paying a lawyer to fight it

 

If I had to guess to amount of time Ive seen hm on tv and speaking.. would gather 6.3 minutes. Aint nobody got time for that..

I can't help but think though that if someone doesn't like your politics, then they go looking for a way to smear you, so whether someone is guilty of something or not, the smear campaign is fundamentally about silencing political opponents
