I use my computer at work, but I'm not supposed to. The only way they'll check is if my suppervisor finds something in the history, so I just clear the history and all the cookies and I'm cool. But now even if I clear everything out the whole history comes back after I go to just one site. So whats up?

After clearing the history close and reopen your browser.

Note if your company is providing you with internet access there are PLENTY of other ways for them to monitor your browsing besides your history.

    Thanks...

I know, they're useing Novell so it would be no problem for them, but they donn't check unless they have a reason.

When you are referring to History are you talking about the HISTORY folder or the autocomlete entries on the address bar?

He can't. It's a work computer, that means he would have to have Administrative privelleges on the system.

Go into "Internet tools" and manually (One by One) delete all the evidence.
That way, it can't come back. By Default, IE seems to keep the cookies even when you set it NOT to. I guess, Ms. Gates thought he was going to catch one of HIS people doing something that way...???

Yes, IE doesn't delete the cookies itself, you have to do manually in some versions. I think it's rather a bug, you all know MS and their non-existing quality assurance ;)

if you're using a work computer then it's possible that your history is stored on the server then restored to your machine when you log in, sounds a bit over the top but it is possible...

What do you do at this company if you're so important?
