The rock sucks and can't act or make a decent movie, ever. I liked "shooter" and "two guns" so I'll go Mark.
yeah, the most abusive and by far difficult jobs i've had were minimum wage.... people should be paid living wages.
Any "wage" is abusive. It is a term of slavery. If we're going to get into "should" territory, I say that people should learn to support themselves without needing wages. I haven't been paid a wage in a loooong time so I know it's possible. Sadly, people deserve the control structure they create. They earned it through their lack of personal responsibility and laziness!
^ I've never read so much bullshit in my life. What do you expect people to do when the banks start calling? "Oh yeah I've decided to not get paid, I've asked for no pay from my employment because I feel I was being slaved". A personal responsibility in this day and age is to have a wage, an income. Great to see you don't need it or whatevs but for a high percentage of other people, especially city dwellers, fucking good luck with that..
If someone's still dealing with banks and cities, I can't have much sympathy for them. We've known for a looooong time that system is totally corrput, unfair, unsustainable, destroying the environment, enslaving.....I could go on. Why anyone still supports it when they have to know all of that stuff is totally beyond me. I'd rather die than spend 40 hours of every week of my life, doing something I hate, just to eat and have a warm place to sleep and maybe....MAYBE....some food on the table. I don't need money because I make a differnce in the people 's lives in the community around me. Free of charge, I fix their stuff, help in their gardens, teach them how to fix stuff, collaborate with them on projects to make the world a better place. Since I do this, I have a free place to stay, food community, AND lots of free time to live my life, work on my projects, and hopefully make the world a better place. Since I help friends with their projects, they help me with mine, and I'm moving forward, despite having made a few hundred bucks in last year. Anyone could do this too! They could decide to actually be a benefit to their communites rather than continuing to be a drain on the environment while supporting an unfair, unsustainable system that will destroy humanity's chances of surviving on this planet past 2030. They could find something that they're very passionate about, study it for free on the internet, and find a community of friends with similar interests to collaborate with. That group of friends could get together and decide to move to a small town or remote settlement somewhere where they could set up sustainable systems that will provide for their basic needs, freeing them to develop their ideas. The result would be a world of tribes working together to make the world a better place, living sustainably, in harmony with the environment that makes their lives possible in the first place! Sorry for the rant, but anyone funding, defending, or otherwise supporting a corrupt, violent, ignorant system that's trying to enslave anyone, myself included, NEEDS TO WAKE UP OR ENJOY THE TERRIBLE FATE THAT AWAITS THEM WHEN THEIR BELOVED SYSTEM EATS THEM ALIVE. Personal responsiblility means that a person knows how to provide for their needs. To me, this means providing for your needs directly by creating your own shelter and power and growing your own food. Participating in a slavery system that may or may not provide for those needs and is screwing everything up for those that CAN live without the needs for government and laws, is an attack on freedom, truth, evolution, the environment, love....everything good about this world. So yeah....if you have a "job", work for fiat currency, and participate/enable those corrupt systems, you're no friend of mine until you pull your head out of your ass. Get it yet? :dizzy2:
Sorry for the harsh tone. It's a tough love thing. Sometimes people need a good shake up to start questioning their paradigms. I only wish the best for everyone but it's time for people to wake up or get out of the way.
Well buddy, you appear to be in the very very low percentage of people that can do what you do. If you've already worked out that responsibility means a person knows how to provide for their needs then you've basically contradicted yourself because most people need an income to provide for their families. We aren't all blessed with communities and land for agriculture, many of us again don't want that, we want a solitary lifestyle on a distant land far far away free of hassles. That doesn't always come cheap especially if you need to buy the land and build a house. It's all well and good to say "stay away from the evil banks and corporations" but many of us don't have a choice in the matter. I wouldn't have been able to buy own house in this economy without a bank, sorry. Charity don't pay the bills. If you get banned for that... haha, bit of a joke. You won't though, we's just two motherfuckers with opposing opinions.
You have a choice. In fact, you only have one choice, freedom, or slavery. People in cities band together and live sustainably. Money can be made by collaborating online in an open source fashion simply by soliciting donations if people appreciate your work. There are millions of ways to make ethical income if you're still building your sustainablility setup. If a person builds their own home from sustainable materials, sets up a few solar panels that they've bartered for, and maintains/helps maintain a garden/community garden, they're providing for their needs responsibly. When someone wants to be alone, just working for some evil corporation and consuming, their lifestyle just isn't sustainable on a physical or mental level. That part of it is fine with me. The part that gets my blood boiling is that since the current system is so oppressive and predatory, those that empower it are effectively empowering the enslavement of others and the destruction of the environment. There is absolutely no excuse for that. I feel really sorry for anyone that chooses to bring that kind of karma upon them. In theory you can make it really black and white But imagine if all people would listen to Ernesto and abandon the cities and their jobs. I don't think we all would thrive. We live in such mass amounts in the cities because the system grew like this to support that possibility. We can't drop it just like that all at once and live on the land in communes. There's too many people for that at this moment. If a person can do it that's great, but to dislike other people for staying in a city or with their job (even if it's a tough love thing) is kind of ridicilous.
Ernesto - what happens when you get sick and need to visit a hospital in order to survive? Do you just do them a few favours around the house in exchange for a lifesaving operation? How do you have internet access without a bank? Somebody is paying the bill through a bank, whether it is you, the coffee shop or library you post from, or your landlord.

If a person can do it that's great, but to dislike other people for staying in a city or with their job (even if it's a tough love thing) is kind of ridicilous. If everybody quit today, it would be rough for a bit for sure. The cultures that survived sustainably before us managed the land so that it provided food everywhere. They thinned forests to promote growth and game, opened up pastures to promote the growth of herd animals, and they lived sustainably and nomadically, which allowed the land to heal. Realistically, the unsustainable environments we call cities and civilization are byproducts of the people that create and support them. If there weren't billions of slave minded people, there wouldn't be big disgusting cities everywhere. If there aren't big nasty cities and factories everywhere, there can't be billions of people. That system is going to balance itself. The excuse makers/happy slaves are going to ride that train right off the cliff and splat on the canyon floor below. I doubt that 1/10th of 1% will have the courage to step off the train in time. I feel very sorry for them and don't want them to suffer but they're creating and empowering the system that will destroy them and speaking out is the only thing I can do about it. Why will it destroy them? Because it's inherently unsustainable from a resource comsumption aspect alone. Then you can factor in all of the other issues like overcrowding, disease, corrpution, insane governments, ignorance, nukes.... It's really sad but a lot of people are going to die. It's just how nature works. Most of humanity is acting like a parasite, consuming its host. Problem is we only have one host. If I could leave this planet, I would! Not an option though. I'm putting these ideas out there now in the hopes that those that feel sick when they see an old homeless lady will know that there are other options out there. If people start getting together in tribes and implementing these ideas, within a few years, there would be all kinds of food growing on public and abandoned lands. The tribes could be networked a bit once we figure out an pen source, decentralized method of communication. They will have sustainable tech that helps them meet their basic needs and they won't be tied to cities, jobs, banks......or internment camps. When the shit goes down in the cities....and it will, tiny tribes of survivors living sustainably in the hills, but with little stored, will be the lowest priority and will likely be ignored. Whatever authorities remain will have their hands full in the cities, trying to contain and provide for....or kill....all of the people that decided that slavery, laziness, and comfort were more important than freedom, justice, environmental respect, personal responsibility, self sufficiency, and the ability to survive sustainably. If my ideals start getting implemented and you don't like them, you can put your head back into the sand, and go back to your slavery. They will never affect you. The current ideals that society runs on, greed, apathy, slavery, and control, ideals that you seem to support, ARE affecting ME though. Since so many humans seem to need to be controlled and exploited, it's illegal for me to plant a mesquite tree in a forest full of mesquite trees. It's illegal for me to collect water from my roof. It's illegal for me to buy raw milk. It's illegal for me to grow pot. I have to live with no money in order to legally avoid forced taxation. If I don't agree with the ideals that your lazy, unsustainable lifestyle supports, I CAN GET MURDERED OR PUT IN JAIL!!!! So, it is black and white. Either you support greed, ignorance, fear, exploitation, slavery, usury, class separation, and the destruction of our environment, or you take responsibility for your own existence and learn to live in harmony with your community and your planet. People still playing in the system are really lucky that I'm not a psychopath. It wouldn't take a rocket scientist to wipe you all off the face of the Earth. I'm right. Everyone will see someday. I just hope they see from their beautiful ecovillages in the hills instead of from their FEMA camp cells. So yeah....tough love.
You've got some great ideas, man... but every time I read one of your posts I come to realize something. In ten thousand years of evolution on this planet we still have a long way to go when it comes to that "My rock is bigger than your rock" arrogance.
