Last week I posted best sandwich, which was pretty cool sounded like peanut butter was a winner! This time Im wondering bout the best retro cartoons,I was born in the 80's and I still think the best cartoons were back then and also my daughter who's 7 has watched some of them online and has been hooked! Funny looking for them online and listening to the theme tunes......ahhhhhhhhh reminising!!! Heres my top 3 1,Captain Planet 2,The littles 3,Denver the last dinosaur Yeah pretty sad and there were heaps more but I think these were the ones I ALWAYS watched.
The 80s were awesome, certainly one of the best times to be a young kid. Were the Super Mario Bros cartoons done in the 80s? If so, they're number one for me. Then Transformers. Then...hm...Defenders Of The Earth.
1. He-Man. Two male synonyms strapped together. What could be better thana cartoon where a wimpy guy becomes suddenly invincible and ends the show with no effort what-so-ever. He-Man could kick the ass off modern heroes. 2. Dungeons and Dragons. 4 kids fall into an alternate dimension after riding on a rollercoaster. What's really interesting is that the show remained entertaining only becaause of how thoroughly useless the characters were. They spent most of the show running away from things. 3. Thundercats! Part man, part cat. This team of sci-fi fantasy warriors spawned the most widely remember LINE in a theme song. Thun-der, thun-der, thun-der, thun-der CATS!! (Kick ass!)
1. Hong Kong Phooey 2. Whacky Races 3. Captain Caveman yeah, the best cartoons were definitely in the 70's man
agreed. thundercats were cool. i dont know if these are retro, but they were what i watched as a kid - so like 90s really. super ted. captain zed and the zee zone. also its not a cartoon as such but astro farm ROCKED. as did thomas the tank, fireman sam, postman pat and that jazz. aww i love cartoons. :cheers2:
ok I should say maybe 'childhood' cartoon because I guess that there are heaps younger ppl who read this.
I knew I was getting old when I found out a co-worker of mine was 18 - and had been born in 1990. He'd not even been alive in the 1980s. Where is my pension book?
Super Ted is Welsh dontcha know?! GAH a lot of them have been used by other people so as much as I loved, Denver the last Dino, Captain Planet, Heman etc... I am gonna choose some different ones. 1. Gummy Bears 2. Banana Man 3. She-ra
... and the three muske-hounds:biggrin: Ah, memories. I also remember loving "Ulysses", that seemed to go on for ages and I never had any idea what was going on, but it had a killer theme tune... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgJ4qYP44Rk
