Anywhere that's not too far North. lol My fav place is Vancouver island, around the Nanaimo to Ladysmith area. Lots of parks everywhere, lots of ocean, river and lakes, fairly central on the island. There is a ferry right in Nanaimo and one closer to Ladysmith, to get to the mainland. Lots of secluded area, yet all the stores/services of a big city are available in Nanaimo.
I have not checked out this place yet but I have heard Salt Spring Island was pretty cool, im planning on checking it out this summer.
Yes, any of the gulf islands are very chill, quiet getaways, and if you can manage to live there, even better :sunny:
Along the coast for sure, near the lower main land and in the Vancouver region. Anything to far up north is pretty cold, and anything to far east is like a desert. I live in BC myself, in Abbotsford. It's a pretty nice area, i like the lower main land, lots of green and nice places, very weed-friendly too, if you're into that kinda thing lol
Nelson BC is where I see myself headed. Very cool hippie culture and great weather. Kootenay lake is one of my fave places on earth
My girl is from the kootneys, we live on the Vancouver Island though. Its the only place I want to live.
The interior where some days you can ski in the morning and golf in the afternoon. My parents live on the island and to go off it for vacations has become so expensive by boat, they don't want to do it with the motor home any more. They prefer flying out now so that's costly too which means they only come off that rock once a year now. They want to move to the mainland because food is expensive, travel is expensive and even hospitalization is an issue as they get older and fear something serious happening. I warned em 20 years ago,,, don't go past the boats to live! But no they had to go find something they liked and now they want out. The interior has nice mild winters,,, not as warm as Vancouver but then, not as wet as Vancouver either. This year we probably got a good few inches of snow the whole winter from several skiffs that happened. Most I got was just over one inch after a night snow storm. The rest of our little snow storms were easily removed with a broom, maybe a half inch or less. I think we are done with snow season now and headed for the high teens in temps. 16C next Monday.
Saltspring is full of hippies so if you are one, then you will love it. There aren’t a lot of jobs there, just a handful of stores.
