I came across a brilliant video on YouTube titled "Old Time Rock 'n' Roll - Legends In Concert". Do yourselves a favour and check it out! https://youtu.be/upaAsYM0948 Also! Has anyone got one they would recommend? Cheers, The old rockandroller
I watched the video and really enjoyed it. I had an older brother born in 1947 and he played that era music all the time. I was a bit more into the late 60's music. It is just amazing the difference rock changed in just a decade. Oh a small story. My parents wanted to go to Lake Tahoe to do some gambling. Trini Lopez was playing on the big stage at one of the Casinos. My younger brother and I were waiting in a lounge area when Trini came walking by all decked out. I got up and asked if he was Trini and if I could have his autograph. He said sure and signed the poster I had of him. I loved, "If I had a Hammer."
Well the best concert I ever did see was in The Derngate Theatre in Northampton. Jerry Lee Lewis was the star turn, but also on was Del Shannon and Freddy Cannon and The Coasters and Gene Pitney. Magic. Pure MAGIC!
In 1979 I was 15yo and saw the grateful dead play at LongIslands Nassau Coliseum on Halloween night. Some acid and Jack Daniel's made it very interesting for me and my friends. My mom was our ride home and got there right on time. The Dead played an extra 2 hours. Security saw her outside and invited her in because they had no idea how long they would play on. I swear she was at least half as fucked up as my friends and I from the smoke cloud when we left. She's in the early 80's and still likes the dead.
