I like the ones that come from my kitchen brewery. I also like Abita and Heinerbrau, both from St. Tammany Parish.
Terrapin from Athens and Sweetwater from Atlanta make some really good brews. I am biased to my homebrews...
Stone is amazing especially for the price; Stone RIS is great. I'm from Minnesota and surly is some of the best beer I've had. I just miss living out west with all of the good brewerys out there.
Have you tried the Covington Brewery's Bock and Pils? I like them both and they seem to fit the weather here. They are the same people at Heinerbrau. I am always looking for a lite flavorful beer for the summers hear. I usually get Abita's Wheat. There is a new brewery in BR call Tin Roof but they are only on tap.
I really like Stone, particular Ruination, Stone IPA, Arrogant Bastard, and Double Bastard. I still have a soft spot for Magic Hat, and really dig Single Chair, Circus Boy, and Vinyl. Rogue is pretty good, too. Their Dead Guy Ale is one I've had the most, and probably one of my favorites. Thirsty Dog makes some pretty good brews. Old Leghumper was surprisingly pleasant. Also, Dogfish Head makes some pretty solid IPAs. Not a huge fan of their 60 minute IPA, but I love their 90 Minute and 120 Minute IPAs. Oh, and Boulder Brewing has some pretty good ones. Hazed and Infused and Singletrack Copper Ale were really good for the price. Southland Tier I just recently tried, and their 2XIPA was rather tasty, although I regret spending $13 on it - it's good, but it's not $13 / six pack good. Bell's is pretty awesome. Their Hopslam was pricey, but very hoppy, and very, very good. Definitely a fan. Mendocino has some pretty tasty beers, too. Their Eye of the Hawk is something like 8.0% ABV and dangerously drinkable. Far more drinkable than many brews with comparable ABV. The taste wasn't necessarily unique or anything, though. Just a solid beer.
Just found a good Pils by Rio Grande Brewery called Desert Pils. Nice and light but full of flavor for these damn long hot days
No, I haven't tried it. I home brew, so I only usually only buy beer when I go to a bar or restruant. I've only tried the ones that they had at the 2009 Octoberfest at their brewery and that's usually all the bars around here stock. Abita Wheat is one of my favorites from them.
Independence Stash IPA Dogfish Head 90 min. Imperial IPA Jester King Black Metal and wine-casked Commercial Suicide Southern Tier 2XIPA Ale Smith brewing Co. Numbskull I trade saving for a car to drink delicious beer.
