While Joy Division is not my favorite band of the post-punk genre, they are the most widely known, along with perhaps The Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees. Of course I'd rather ask what your favorite songs by Wire and The Chameleons are, but not enough people are familiar with their music. So what are some of your favorite songs from Joy Division? This one is perhaps my number one favorite. The synths really compliment the lyrics well. Such a dark, gloomy post-punk feel to this song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMAB3r6EjcM
I'd have to say these 3, off the top of my head: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_NggH3O90o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dBt3mJtgJc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64x_RCArfjU The lyrics of "Passover" are easily my favorites of Joy Division. It's some really spectacular poetry, I think. That live footage of Ian in "Transmission" sends chills up my spine.
Back in the day when I was in a town that had a library with dvds I used to get everything when it came out. I hate any true stories. Rented control not knowing what it was or was about. I was upset at first but after watching it...turned out to be one of the better movies I got from there.
