Best jobs for hippies?

Not including self-employment (I made a separate thread for that here)... what do we think are the best jobs out there in society for hippies?

The most fun job I've had was managing a rock & mineral (crystal) shop for a friend.

(They still have jobs in Marysville?)

 

Typical hippy career path?

Lives in a wigwam at festivals, all yr long. Makes ethnic jewellery. Best friend from school is an editor at Twatler or Vogue. Gets lots of pr at each. Then make lots more ethnic jewellery. Or rather, tells everyone its made by them personally, and not a slave.

Ask daddy's Venture Capital firm for 10m to set up a fairtrade ethnic jewellery factory. In a real ethnic place, where they work 20 hrs a day for 50 cents. Clinch massive deal with Walmart. Starts a "green charity" to double everyone's heating bills and have them walk everywhere instead of using cars. Achieves result, then starts talking about "leaving the rat race and materialist society". Buys a castle in Surrey. Gets kids to follow the same path. Rinse and repeat.

 

haha yeah like, to be honest... I personally don't really discern between the '60s hippies and the modern hippies. I think the movement is too exciting and too powerful to be restricted to just one decade or just one generation!

Metallers are from all decades and generations, so are punks, rockers and all the rest. Whhhyyyy not hippies? ^_^

 

Yeah they don't work. Cos they all have trust funds..

 

Best jobs for hippies? Oh, I don't know... freeloading, selling drugs, being cliche, etc.
