I was wondering if you guys/gals could possibly recommend stuff I should be using to teach myself the language. (Yes I know teaching myself wont be easy, but I take in a lot more information that way then having someone else tell me... and everyone I work with is Dominican, so I can use the language there.)

Specifically grammar books. I've purchased a few books that cover words, phrases, and verbs... but I have yet to find a good book that focuses its majority on the grammer part of the language, which is the most important part in my eyes.

So if anyone knows a good Latin American Spanish grammar, pleaseeeeee tell me =p

    Mucho gracias!

the book i am using in my spanish 5 class is called prentice hall Abriendo Paso Gramatica. It is pretty advanced, but also goes back over the basics, so i think an advanced beginner would be able to use it.

oh if you get that book, it starts off with preterite and imperfect, but if you look a few chapters in it goes over present tense
