Ive read fear and loathing, on the road, the electric kool aid acid tests and Bonfire of the vanites and I was wondering are there any other good books that fit in the Gonzo/Beat/Hippie genre, both modern and Old?

More Thompson of course: Hells angels is great

Also gonzo papers vol 1 the great shark hunt is worth looking into it has a lot of his original articles that inspired fear and loathing (like the ruben salazar piece and the kentucky derby is decadent and depraved)

William Burroughs Junky, Queer and the yage letters

    Neal Cassady The first third

Ken Keasys Sometimes a great notion and One flew over a cuckoos nest

Bukowsky is debatable in this category but Post office (I would start here) and Women are a lot of sloppy misanthropic alcoholism in my book
