What are your favourite film quotes? Could be funny, could be powerful, could be punchy, could be naughty, could be downright insane....
One of my favourite, from Sean of the Dead: "There's no I in team." "No, but there's an I in meat pie, and meat is an anagram of team!"
Aw, I already posted a couple of mine over in the (sub-par!) Movies forum...But if you don't mind I'd like to rehash this one: "Here we have a four-way street, in the middle of the street is a crisp 20 dollar bill. At the end of each street are four people; At this end is a male-friendly, non-agenda lesbian. Over here is a full of rage, man-hating dyke. At this end is Santa Clause and over here is the Easter Bunny...Who gets the $20 first?" "The man-hating dyke" "Good! Why?" "I don't know" "Because the other three are figments of your fucking imagination!" (Banky and Holden from 'Chasing Amy') Not as punchy as 'Scrubbers!' I'd agree, but I was very impressed when I first saw it.
Yeah...'Withnail and I' is a quote goldmine! Practically every line has a wonderful ring to it. I think "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" shares a similar genius...From the opening... "We were somewhere around Barstow when the drugs began to take hold" ...to... "Just a freak in a freak kingdom" It's all fantastic stuff! "Dogs fucked the pope...No fault of mine"
"Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills! The people it kills get up and kill!" --Dawn of the Dead
Woddey Alan in Annie Hall: Hey, don't knock masturbation. It's sex with someone I love." The Silence Of The Lambs: "A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver" Duck Soup:"I could dance with you till the cows come home...On second thought, I'd rather dance with the cows when you came home."
"I've got to go now Clarice, I'm having an old friend for dinner!" Another great one from Silence of the Lambs. "Do you dream Will?" Spooky....
