it would be really hard to not pick the beatles. if you were going for pure guitar skills, you might pick the yard birds, who spawned jeff beck, eric clapton, and led zepplin. i guess you could pick the grateful dead since they all speak english.
It's The Beatles - No question about it. Wether what you're judging is music, influence, sheer bop-a-bility - It don't matter. Those four lads are the best thing about British music. Their songwriting ability alone makes them number one in my book. Not to mention their strive to make music more experimental.
