The best band from the 1960's to the now you deside i want your opinion.... if you have one... yes this is to start convosation but hay any way ill leave it at that...ohh and say why you think it is the best band please thanks...
Hmm... too many to name but i guess i'll try. On the punk side of things you have some easy ones... Leftover Crack, NOFX, Rancid, Clash, Ramones, Misfits, AFI. Rock, too much to name really. Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Hendrix, Bob Dylan, CCR, Grateful Dead. Of course can't fail to mention Marley and Sublime. I'm sure i missed hundreds
NOFX and Rancid? Are you kidding me? ...I guess it's all just perspective, but...NOFX and Rancid? I would say CSNY and CCR for rock and roll. I don't know what to say about punk, though.
Yeah i think i would have to agree with spooner but yes he has missed out hundreds but hay..... but i think green day are good too but they are sell outs iwth there new album ehh yeah i would also have to say the who and the doors are preatty damm good...what do you guys think?
THE WHO!!!! Heehee... all four of those guys fucking rock. I should go back in time and kindap them, and keep them as my pets to live in my basement.
I don't know...perhaps, Rage Against The Machine, Dire Straits, Franz ferdinand, i really dunno...it depends on person because things such as this are very subjective.
You know I love the Who, but they were not the best band in history, nor even remotely the most influential. The Velvet Underground takes the cake here, people.
Well he didn't say "Most Influential", he said "Best". And The Who is the best damnit. But if you want to be that way... you can just keep your snotty Velvet Underground, and leave all The Who to me. I'm not sharing either!
You want cliche, how bout Beatles?...anyways, them...Slade from like 70/71 but w/e...Cat stevens (yeas he did hve records in the mid 60's...The Kinks, Donovan, Cream, Mothers of Invention...
Crosby, Stills, Nash, and sometimes Young. and Neil Young.. and The Grateful Dead... along with David Grisman. And... hmm... Jefferson Airplane, Bob Dylan, John Fogerty (CCR), Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, Leo Kottke, Donavan,... you know.... for balance, I suppose I'll throw in some proggish bands... Rush, Yes, Styx, Reo Speedwagon, Journey... Humble Pie. REO is more of stadium rock... I like Dave Amato a lot more than Gary Richrath.
Styx! ha!...I like Styx too. But you know what I don't like? When someone says that they like Styx and the only song they actually know is Come Sail Away. ::sigh:: .....here's to Eddie, Jennifer...and KILROY.
Same here... I think my favorite song is probably High Crimes and Misdemeanors off of their 1999 Brave New World Album... that or hmm..the entire grand illusion album... I can't remember... I think Come Sail Away was off their 1979 Cornerstone album. I have that on vinyl signed by Tommy Shaw and James Young. But... my favorite song that they do is actually a Laurence Gowan song that they started doing when Laurence became their keyboard player and replaced Dennis DeYoung... - A Criminal Mind. James has the most awesome solo in that... They're really awesome live. Very choreographic... the best part I saw during the tour they did with Peter Frampton and the nelson brothers this year is when Laurence started doing Scott Joplin... I think "The Entertainer" in double time
