Pink Floyd... Zeppelin was a close second though

 

Queen, The Beatles, Pink Floyd.

 

Out of those I will have to say The Beatles, although I have many favourites not on that list - Levellers being the most amazing band in the whole wide world

 

I forgot to add Grateful Dead. Oh well... somebody will say it sooner or later :]

 

I think YouFreeMe has mentioned a band which should have easily been on that list.

Queen sort of tops nearly all of them, with out a shadow of doubt.

 

I was going to say them - but them being a great band is a given!

 

I'm a huge Deadhead, but still I would say the Beatles were the best. The only band on that list that even comes close to the Beatles and the Dead is Led Zeppelin. But I think you have to consider the Rolling Stones in their prime, too.

 

Ya know, it's wierd but I've never been a big stones fan. or ac/dc fan for that matter. I just think those bands are better. In my opinion. If I would have remembered I would have replaced pink floyd or iron butterfly with grateful dead

 

Iron Butterfly is not highly thought of, doesn't belong on the list.

 

Beatles! than Zep, Doors, and Floyd

 

Abba, sad to admit but they do some pretty good songs!

 

I have been listening to Eagle continuously - One of my favourite songs.

Never in my life have I heard anyone say Abba is one of the greatest. I barely know who they are.

kindof a broad question, don't ya think? i selected other, as most of these bands do not currently exist (atleast in the original state). that being the case, among current bands... toubab krewe is, undoubtedly, the illest shit around... they lose a few points, though, for being a newer band... so i'm gonna say phish... lots of output, most of which is kick ass.
