I picked up this Lou Reed album today. I've gotten a bit more than halfway through so far, and I think it's a pretty great work so far; I'll have to listen to it in it's entirety, but what I've heard works well together as an album. It has the same producer as Pink Floyd's The Wall, which gives it a booming, bombastic theatrical vibe. What does everyone else think?
I don't know, Berlin is interesting, but I haven't been able to get into it. It's supposed to be one of the saddest albums of all time, but it just doesn't seem to get me. Some of the lyrics are pretty sad, I suppose. Caroline says as she gets up off the floor Why is it that you beat me it isn't any fun That part during "The Kids" where the kids are screaming for their mom is pretty weird, too.
I've listened to it several times, but i just can't get into it either. But i love 'Sad Song'. That song really stands out above the rest of the album. I hate that part.
Yeah, I like "Sad Song," but I think my favorite is "Caroline Says I." Heh, yeah, it's not my favorite part by any means...
