Does anyone have a Bengal Cat? Im hoping to get one, I found a farm that is less than 6 miles from my house that has all different kinds Im so excited!
they are so beautiful. but we've got a couple pound kitties. i am really jonesing for a dog, though. i haven't been able to have a dog for YEARS.
The farm here has them starting at 500.00, the breeders go for up to 1200.00 But Aura is paying half the rent at our place, so I should be able to afford one in a few weeks
i want a coton de tuleur desperately. they're beautiful, sweet natured, playful and social. they have long hair, which is good for our winters, but it's light enough that they don't swelter in the summer. they're not too big, they're not know for being loud. perfect. it should get along famously with our english bulldog that we're getting, too.
KC do you think I should lie to the farm and tell them I live in a house? I can have my mom back me up and my DL still has my old adress. Im just worried because I know they are quite long cat's and they get upwards of 15lbs, and if I tell them the sqaure ft. of my apartment, Im afraid I may be rejected.
damn, there is no way I can pay that much for a cat. I can barely scrape enough money together to travel this summer. but you should definitely get one. how you guys doing?
if you might be rejected for the size of your dwelling, perhaps it's not the right time to get one of these cats? unless you're planning on moving, I suppose. beautiful animals, though.
They are beautiful. And that's saying something for me, cos I don't particularly like cats...BUT $500.
ah, man. our cats are HUGE. but they're indoor/outdoor cats. it's actually against the law here, but they're so fat that them hunting down the local wildlife is laughable. but at any rate, i can't imagine having a cat that size cramped in a small apartment. it would just be cruel. i don't know how you feel about your cat getting outside, but it IS more likely to be stolen because of it's uniqueness. i know it's a bummer, but a cat is a family member, really.
Well, no I dont think that's the situation. The only reason I worry about being rejected is because though it's not a shelter, Im assuming since it's a farm that they dont simply do first come first serve (considering basic evaluation of course) but rather when a litter is born, they evaluate who would provide the best home for them, and obviously they will chose someone with a house over someone with an apartment. The cats dont grow much bigger than a house cat, and my living room/bedrooms/kitchen spaces are WIDE open with plenty of room for an energetic cat to run around and play in. It's just on basis of who they will chose, that worries me.
Yea no I have had literally hundreds of animals growing up, from pigs to goats to alligators to snakes to dogs, cat, fish, mice, chickens, etc. And most were in a house, this is true, but the house was SMALLER than my apartment. Of course the goat and pig lived outside, but weve had pitbulls, dobermans, and several other dogs growing up that lived, basically, in the living room and they never had a problem. Most of the cats were inside only and they were fine. It's not that my apartment is small its actually quite large. It's the over obsession with the animals well being (while completley understandable) that most farms have that worries me, and leads me to think they would chose a homeowner over myself
Ive got one. That pic looks like a "base cat" ie classed as part Asian leopard cat , not pure domestic cat. He's probably worth a fortune cos his markings are excellent Bengals are good natured and clever.Id def recommend one to someone. Mine loves the outdoors. Just dont buy one if you live near busy/ish roads-particularly because theyre very impulsive A tiger would be better tho: )
