U.S.S. Eldridge was a naval ship. in 1943, scientists from the US tried to bend light to go around the ship and not reflect from it, therefor making the ship invisible to the naked eye. The Government has denied all information on this project, "Project Rainbow". They hid every bit of information but some has seemed to have been leaked. Apparently the project went very wrong, the ship went through time travel, and when seen again, the crew was fused to the ship and dead.

one of the many links about the USS Eldridge

Wow. I never knew that! I'm gonna recommend at the next meeting of the school board that they drop all their history courses, and instead have kids read this forum.

i can't tell if thats sarcasm, but yea. the site reads "There are also details such as crewmen being fused to the hull of the ship and some not even reappearing. "

You know what's really fucking amazing?

there's like a billion TV and monitor CRT's in the world with Focusing, deflecting, and degaussing coils and not one has ever malfunctioned and blasted through time and space or fused itself to a human!
