Anyone ever start thinking about space when they are high and just get really freaked out?

I just kind of think about how when you're out there and you decide to just go out to space you're just falling into a bottomless pit of nothing until you die. Space is so fucking weird I can't even fathom it. Wow.

yeah when i lived in VA my friends had a big backyard wiht a pool and we would chill in their pool on floats and look up and start talking about space and how cool it would be if aliens dropped us garbage bags full of weed for us. yeah we were really really high.

i remember having a stoned conversation with friends about how space ships/UFO's were really time machines, and aliens were us but evolved due to the fact that we're either living on another planet or on some space station. the new environment was probably a dark one due to our big future eyes and our gray skin... ah there was more to this but again this is a stoned convo.

Yeah. Finding an outcropping on a mountain top or just a good wide meadow on a clear night really puts things in perspective.

Many conversations I have while high are about paranormal activity or politics and such, the topic of "space" often gets mentioned. Anything controversial, abstract theories etc interestes me. I think its amazing the amount of money G-dub wants to invest in further exploring up there but I like the idea as we may not only be able to extract helium 3 as another source of fuel, but space exploration can also help us learn more about the world and what surrounds it.

    Peace - J

yeh, i heard somewhere that the odds of there not being intellingent life somewhere out there are so small that some scientists are absolutely certain there is alien life, based on this probability, now stay with me, this is where it gets cool. the probability that the EXACT evolutionary path that we took to become humans happening elsewhere on another planet is so high that some scientists also believe this to be true. me and a buddy got talking about this and the possibility that there might be so many planets out there and so many possible forms of life that there might just be an exact replica of earth somewhere out there in the big black, and an identical pair of us two having the conversation... :p

wow thats a really cool thought, never heard anything like it before

Have you guys ever noticed that if u looked at sky in a certain way it kinda looks like your just in a big dome? That kinda freaked me out the first time i noticed it.

Also, You know how there are microscopic organisms and your finger tip is probably like an entire galaxy to them. Well what if our entire galaxy is just some microscopic thing to someone or something.......

Our exact path wasn't likely at all, what are you talking about? Think of just a few things, like the mass extinction at the end of the Permian period (possibly caused by an oceanic methane release, causing worldwide fires, then global warming), which totally changed the life forms on earth (95% of species went extinct); or the asteroid impact that killed the dinosaurs, allowing mammals a chance to take over. Or the ice ages, caused by tons of factors, one being the formation of the Isthmus of Panama halting the mixing of pacific and atlantic waters. Not to mention, evolution is random, dependant on genetic mutations. There's a million million different things that happened just so...

Look, I agree there is certainly life out there, and probably, somewhere, intelligent life. But lets not go too far. The complexities of the paths of evolution here on Earth over the last 3.5 BILLION years have been varied and many, so I'd say it's unlikely there's other humans out there. Think of the chances that all these things happened in the same order in the same time span. A tiny change in anything would end up causing huge changes later, due to Complexity Theory.
