Been involved with something and it started 6 weeks ago, a program to help troubled teens. Some cops whom I know had a word with me on this and asked me to speak out knowing I was once like them which I changed my life around at age 17. I spoke out last night and a couple of them disgusted me thinking it was funny. 14 and 15 years old stealing, doing drugs and disrespecting mom. I was in their faces and their mom was glad to see it. Another one was in their face too and he made them shut up even more. I saw mom had enough and her life was a living hell comforting her. I saw change in 2 of them, two young ladies 13 and 15 years old realizing they had to change and we had a talk which dad was there seeing the pain they put him through. Told them both that I am willing to help them out more on this new chapter in their life going in the right direction in life. Their dad was glad to hear this knowing they are putting in the effort to do this.
The 13 and 15 year old, going to teach the oldest to be a positive role model to her younger sister is one thing I am going to do. Plus a couple cops that knew me from the past are proud of me, they were there. Said I was going down the wrong path in life and went down the right path after that, one was when I finished Marines boot camp making it through.
Thank you for trying to make a difference! Sometimes it takes a bit of advice from someone who has been down the same path and can share that trauma to make some wake up! Bravo!
I knew that I wanted to give back in a good way. I am glad I did my time in the Marines, turned my life more in the right direction around learning discipline
