Beautiful v. Hot

Why don't people call others Beautiful instead of Hot anymore?
It's more flatering when your called beautiful rather than hot, is it not?

This all sparked because my friend just called me beautiful and I seriously started crying. Haha. I'm such a pussy...

 

I can't say I go around calling people "hot" that much...but if I fancied you (which I don't, btw) I would probably call you hot...then if I wanted something I would call you beautiful.

 

Because beautiful is not the same thing as hot. Someone can totally be hot without being beautiful.

 

I've only been called beautiful on a serious level, like, where someone hasn't wanted anything out of it, three times.
Today, homecoming of last year, and sometime in June of 2007.

 

That's some hippy shit right there.

 

But why?

 

Hot means you look like you would be fun to get physical with.
Beautiful is more. Its given that it would be fun to be physical with, but also that youd wanna stick around to talk about it afterwords.

 

Even so, people I know who have been dating forever never call one another beautiful. They just say hot or sexy.

 

People can be beautiful on the inside without being "hot" on the outside too.

 

Because.

Hot is a "lustful term". A lot of people can be hot. Dress up, put on make up, hang your tits out, do your hair all "sexy", show a lot of leg. That can be hot. But not just that, of course. Kinda exaggerated there...

Beautiful is something else. I take it to mean the 'whole person'. When I say someone's beautiful, I mean their whole selves is beautiful. It's not out of lust or just in that moment, it means something way more than that.

 

Are they 16?

Exactly. I know a girl who is not physically attractive at all, but she has such a fantastic bubbly and loving personality, you just fall in love with her. Her personality totally negates the way she looks. Beautiful is a lot deeper than physical appearance. My first love was probably not gorgeous according to society's standards, but I thought he was the most beautiful human being ever. And every now and then you get lucky and find that person who is drop dead gorgeous and has a personality to boot. That was my best friend. I always told her I thought she was beautiful, though. And hot, too, of course, but when I was all mushy on her, it was beautiful.

 

Its entirly possible that either they are shallow and just in it for the fun, mutually, or they are they type of people who keep the emotional side of thier relationship private.

 

To be honest if I say you are hot it is because I am blown away by beauty.

So it is the same thing for me to say you are hot or you are beautiful.

Broads don't like being called pretty. It seems kiddish, and that takes away their sexuality.But overemphasizing their sexuality seems to cheapen them, in their eyes. So Sexy, especially from the wrong crowd, makes them feel guarded.


So beautiful is a compromise which means a lot to women. I don't know. There are a lot more women I'd consider hot than beautiful, because I'm like a wolf. And beautiful does seem to be beyond the heat of passion.

I myself think highly of primal passion. So whatever.
