I seem to remember spending months around that time installing a sound system for a premier of a film featuring that band. Something about a hole in a wall. It never made much sense to me though.
Believe it or not, their is no shortage of young attractive girls at the opera house. The best part was that when they got home, the first thing that they wanted to do was get their long frocks off. . Those were the days.
So far I'm not impressed. I do have to go back and listen to some of the songs better, but I don't have the time right now. But, anyway, just to show I do listen to "new" songs, this is from 2006. Dedicated to Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker and the city of New Orleans.
if I weren't so mentally lazy, I would put Little Richards Keep a' Knockin from 1955. He and Jerry Lee were the ones I listened to.
He's great , but I wonder why Procol Harum isn't in the R&R Hall of fame. He was their guitarist and they were unique.
Soft Cell "Where Did our Love Go?" was released in 1981. I think it's really cool. Another one from the early 80s is Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love"
Soft Cell's version was actually a cover of The Supremes' "Where Did Our Love Go". I was in junior high when the Soft Cell version came out...good memories.
This song came out in 1998. During this time "electronica" made a big impression in my mind, though history tells a different tale (kraftwerk etc.). Fatboy Slim "Praise You".
Didn't like Portugal. Never liked Foreigner, I had hopes for One Republic as I liked the cello (or whatever it is), I liked the tablas in Tool. Tool may be alright, I'd have to listen more. At least Oasis had some action to it, remembered me of that Bang the Gong song.
