Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Movie Blurb by Shale March 25, 2016 I had trepidations about this movie, more than the fact that it is two and a half hours long. The whole premise was ridiculous to those who know these comic book characters. Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) is a dark, morose crime fighter in Gotham as Batman, but altho he is exceptionally well built fysically, his powers are limited to his technology and get past that and he can be hurt. Whereas Superman (Henry Cavill) is - well, Superman. He is impervious to anything Earth or Earthlings can throw at him, so aside from Kryptonite being in the mix, how could Batman ever go mano-a-mano with Superman? Batman & Superman Nose to Nose Actually, Kryptonite is thrown into the mix as well as Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) the young CEO of LexCorp, who as we all know is out to get rid of Superman who foils his nefarious plots. Clark Kent, Lex Luthor & Bruce Wayne Being Civil So, why would these two crime fighters be at each others throats? This movie opens a year and a half after that Extraterrestrial battle between Superman and General Zod, that destroyed much of the high rises in Metropolis with thousands of ppl killed. Bruce Wayne lost some of his favorite colleagues in the destruction and all the other aliens are gone, leaving Superman holding the guilt. He is even being summoned by a Senate Investigation led by Senator June Finch (Holly Hunter). Batman Pissed Off Meanwhile, as Clark Kent working at the Daily Planet, Superman is appalled by the Batman vigilante who is now branding criminals before leaving them for authorities. He starts investigating this against the wishes of his boss Perry White (Laurence Fishburne), OK, we all know that Batman is dark, conflicted and generally messed up character, working morosely in his basement with his trusted butler/confident/technician and only friend Alfred (Jeremy Irons) but this movie brings out some of that anger in Superman as well and they get into a skirmish before they finally have a knock down drag out fight. Superman Pissed Off On a good note, Superman is now shacking up with Lois Lane (Amy Adams) making all the fan boys wonder anew how she handles the "Man of Steel." And, you know Lois is going to be part of Lex Luthors plot. In the end, this mysterious woman Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) who has been keeping an eye on Bruce Wayne while he was spying on Lex Luthor, turns up to join the epic battle as Wonder Woman. Batman, Wonder Woman & Superman Join Forces I actually liked the movie and the way it played off the problems caused in "The Man of Steel" movie. This is the beginning of DC comix Justice League and hints of some of the future characters were flashed by on a computer monitor. The aggregate critics on Rotten Tomatoes only gave it a 31% but 73% of audiences liked it. The film was apparently made for fans and not critics.
First it was Freddy vs Jason, then Alien vs Predator, now Batman vs Superman, even if the movie is good it sets a bad precedence. Hotwater
Thank you for this review. i am pretty psyched to this movie now. It looks like it will be fun to see.
It's actually not anything like those, if you know the comics then you would understand exactly why its named that way. It's the principle there fighting over. one's an alien another is a human. One destroyed half a city while trying not to kill a soul while the other wouldn't take a second to kill. It's more about them learning to understand each others way of thinking and learning from one another. At least that's how the comics go about it. As for the movie i'll wait and see it for myself. But most people who haven't read the comics think the same thing you do that its about two heroes killing each other.
So is there anyone that actually liked this movie? Just totally shit casting all round Zack Snyder at the moment is booked in to also direct the next two Justice League movies. Why do they keep letting this guy make comic book movies This franchise should have, could have, would have kicked ass
I think it's the best comic book movie after Batman Begins. You should watch the Ultimate Edition, you'll probably like it more. Zack Snyder is an incredible director, Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen Ultimate Cut, Man of Steel, BvS, his movies kick ass.
