The road crew was working over my crude road with fresh asphalt covered by late-day rain. I'll be barefoot all over it--can't wait for all that warm mush and annoying pebbles sticking to my naked soles. The pleasure/pain principle, what?
My favorite is newly sealed blacktop about one week old. It puts on a nice coat of black that sidewalks cannot scour off.
Asphalt is my favorite surface for walking barefoot, in all phases, from fresh and rubbing off his colour on the soles to old, rough and with sharp little stones.
