    anyone ever tried it?
I forgot my shoes one day, and skated the bowls barefoot... its what originally got me into going around town barefoot.

Understand though that i just skate bowls, and whatnot, no Ollie or flip tricks.

Anyways I love it, and always do it for at least a couple hours when skating

Yep... like Jodie Foster, for instance:

I just can't remember from which movie that was...

I skated barefoot back in the late 60's and early 70's when it wasn't all that unusual to see kids barefoot or skating barefoot. it has been forever and a day since then but I found you could really grip the board with barefeet and you just rode the board shod. the equipment is really seems different now, larger and longer boards.

  9. CHECK IT OUT, KIDS-----
Go to YouTube. There is a wonderful (award-winning) 10-minute film made in 1968 about BAREFOOT SKATEBOARDING---all barefoot all the time and totally great!

Road rash on the tops (or bottoms) of my feet just sounds awful. I suppose because I know there's got to be nerves close to the skin kinda like in your hands. No thanks.

I longboard, and I usually longboard barefoot unless the road's really steep or nasty-looking.

I've gotten one friend to longboard barefoot with me a couple times, but he's only sometimes in the mood for it and he usually gets his shoes back on as soon as he can, which doesn't make much sense to me. I'll try it on him again next time we longboard together.

I would think longboarding barefoot's easier than skateboarding, because you don't need to slide your foot up and down the grip tape the way you would on a skateboard (to do tricks and stuff) and you can carve or slide to slow down instead of footbraking.
I've also seen pushsticks for sale so it's like you're paddleboarding- you don't need to put your foot down at all! They're pretty expensive though; you might as well make one yourself. I might actually make one this summer if I can, but I may be going away. If I do, I'll post pics!
