There is so little on science on barefooting but since its January and only the most die hard bare footers are not in shoes this is the time for before and after pictures to add to the science of how building up barefooting endurance and foot changes from prolonged barefooting works. Now is the time to take the before picture then this summer get the after and post a before and after side by side comparison. Its just a few topics below this one I posted about having built back the endurance to barefoot to the beach on the rougher road no problem but I have since lost it from wearing shoes to much and not "training" barefoot hiking shitty weather. It just actually kind of amazes me that everything science there is such an incredible amount of literature but foot changes before and after shoes to barefooting long or short term there is almost nothing. Isn't science the way to tell the world shoes are a scam ?
To be honest, my feet don't really change their shape/appearance between winter and summer. My calluses are now hard enough that I don't really lose them, even during the winter. But my barefooting season is over for the next few weeks. Weather reports are predicting that temperatures could go down to even -40 C (-40 Fah) for next weekend, so I'm definitely holstering them at this point. Risk vs. reward, and I see no rewards in the near future.
