I have been lurking for a Abit and decided to join the group. I go barefoot in the summer spring fall, and only in the winter when its above 55 degrees and sunny. I usually wear flipflops when I go into a store or other publyc place because I don't want the hassle. Unfortunately its not possible for me to go barefoot at work or even wear flipflops there.
I am from Indiana and I would say its neither barefoot hostile or friendly, its very neutral. This summer I have seen abot 10-12 people barefoot in public place where the public usually doesn't go barefoot, though only once inside a store. I go barefoot while hiking and going for walks, I always drive barefoot even in the winter if its a long trip. I estimate I have hiked about 75-100 miles barefoot this year and 10-20 on asphalt.
The most barefoot friendly place I have ever been is Indiana Dunes State Park, being a beach type area most people are barefoot anyway, there is a indoor snack bar there and you can go in without anyone looking at you funny. the thing that amazed me is that so many people went into the public restroom barefoot, it seems only the media thinks its a big deal that brittany spears went into a restroom and gas station barefoot because I would say half the people in there were barefoot. I would really like to visit a barefoot friendly spot where I can go without shoes or flipflops for a week without any hassle. I am not a fan of winter and would like florida or arizona I think. I tried to post a pic but the one I have I could only resize down to 400kb. Any tips?
    Mike

about you pic, what software did you use to resize it ? Photoshop should be able to get it down to under 40K without much hassle. It could also be you only have 2 post, I know some boards make you wait until you have X number of post before you can post pics, this helps keep porn bots from posting to sites with pics.

I'm not much of a cold weather fan either. Being from SE Texas, I call "cold" under 50. LOL

You don't need any special software to make your pics as small as you want. If you have Windows, then you have Paint. Pull up your pic in Paint (or send to Paint), at the top click "Image." Then click "Stretch/Screw." Then pick "Stretch." You'll see "100%" in both horizontal and vertical. Change that to any number less than 100. Be sure to change both horizontal and vertical the same number. If you pick 50%, for example, your pic will change to half the size. If you like it, you can save it, either "save" to completely replace the original, or "save as" to save the smaller one and keep the original as well. If you don't like that size, click Edit and "undo." Or just get out without saving and start over.

You can do lots of stuff with pics in Paint.

Mike, Welcome to the group ! we are very friendly and try to encourage each other. I think a thread about various locations and hiking opportunities is a great idea. 100 miles sounds like you're really getting into the swing of it. Running BF and climbing are fun too. Archie
