I have visited many churches in Spain and France, which I happily roamed through barefoot because the floors are SO cool and smooth snd fantastically dusty that barefooting them is a rather secular way of enjoying sacred sites, but I was seeking dirty feet, not salvation. Churches in London are rather formal, and it never occurred to me to try them barefoot. Westminster Cathedral in bare feet? Apples and oranges? I have never seen a barefooter in any English church. Perhaps one of our British members can set me straight. Anyway, churches ate swell barefoot destinations. Now you know!
