  1. UPHILL---BOTH WAYS! IN THE SUN! BAREFOOT!
Now that Summer is here (right? Right??), it's time to enjoy those heated surfaces. Long walks (see above) seem to "cover the territory" nicely. Mmmmm, summer barefooting........ (water? check! sunblock? check!...)

This makes me regret deciding to skip learning how to skateboard.

I love to cycle barefoot. I wrap socks around the pedals for comfort.. a better use for them than suffocating my feet.

I think I always weird people out in my zumba class because I do it barefoot.

I did a 6 mile hike barefoot. That was pretty intense.

why ? many professional dancers are routinely barefoot and according to the little i know about that, zumba and bare feet should mix alright... the real weirdos are those in your class . i also think that people who never shed shoes, not even while taking a sea bath, must be mentally ill or in the best option they have serious behavioral issues and either they have a reverse fetish or our (in intents) sterilized society forced them in a state of permanent fear about everything that is not artificial and guaranteed. they do exist, i spotted several nutcases, all young people, swapping flip flops with rubber sandals just to go in water when then they come out of water , voila another footwear change. sick. i'd friggin' LOVE to see the reaction of this people if they find themselves far away from the civilization of asphalt and concrete and with no shoes at all. i think that should be enough to give'em the fits.

I wish I could do this, but I have an obscenely high arch, and actually injured myself doing aerobics barefoot over the winter. The injury affected my heels and was very painful- plantar fasciitis is what it's called. I'm going to get a pair of those Vibram 5-finger running shoes and see if they work for me, but I think that might be as close as I'll ever be able to come to exercising barefoot. :(

Well...I can see what you mean, in that the people who don't go barefoot enough if at all are missing out on a freeing, relaxing and downright good feeling experience, but I wouldn't go so far as to call them weirdos, or mentally ill. I have a lot of friends and relatives who are mega shoddies like that, who I respect, and they respect my barefoot preference. Sure, they think that it's different for me to be around barefoot in places where "the norm" is that people have something on their feet, but they don't stop me. Plus, it's just be their own personal preference to be shod. I know a good friend of mine who goes far as to not even touching doors with his bare hands, much less go barefoot. Just because he's OCD and afraid of germs like that, but that's how his brain works. Other than that, he's very intelligent and a great musician. Plus calling them mentally ill is using another person's disabilities with a negative connotation. (Basically why I'm against using "retarded" as a word that describes something or someone that I dislike, or don't necessarily agree with.)

Long story short, I understand where you're getting at, but in my own personal opinion, others may disagree, calling people who decide to go shod the majority of the time mentally ill, even if they don't have a disability, is going a tad too far. :(

I like this. We can't really complain about the comments and weird looks WE get, if we do the same to them!

I have a really high arch too but I've found the opposite, that exercising in barefeet helps me.

I dont know if you live near a beach, but anytime I spend a few days on a beach walking around barefoot I've noticed my arch starts correcting itself. Something about the sand helps align the foot.
