Finally, after all these years I saw Barbarella. Ran across a cheap DVD of this 1968 movie and got it. Seems in '68 I was sleeping around too much to go to the movies. Of that era I only remember seeing 2001 A Space Odyssey and In The Realm of the Senses.

Anyhow, this camp space farce was so typical of the era, showing the sexual freedom that was being explored by all us young ppl, including a 30-something Jane Fonda.

We've all seen pic of the breast revealing uniform that she wore

But what I hadn't seen was the opening strip scene where she is floating around in zero-G quite at ease in her nakedness as the credits are sometimes obscuring her bod, but not always.

What I find interesting is that this movie, which wasn't rated in 1968, is now rated PG. I thought any naked female breasts at least got a PG-13 rating.

I love this movie! An exceptionally strange and surreal journey through human sexual relationships. Though it is presented as a cheap b-sci-fi film, there is a lot of smart stuff going on in the film.
