What are they and why haven't you? I haven't listened to The Shins in a long time, several years at least 3-4 and I am now listening to them today, it's a great feeling. I also haven't listened to Bob Marley or Peter Tosh in quite awhile. I should remedy that today. I think I will make this day all about music. So what bands haven't you listened to in a while. I think I also need to listen to some Tool and A Perfect Circle and...why not SOAD and hmmm....David Bowie...yeah probably. Oh Dave Matthews, that'd be a helluva flashback for me. y tu?
I haven't listened to U2 in a while. One of my very favorite bands. I guess I am not really into their newer stuff.
I agree with you on SOAD and A Perfect Circle... the reason I haven't listened to them is cos I've been listening to other shit instead
Dave Matthews? You have my condolences. I'd rather cut my ears off with a butter knife than listen to him. There are a lot of bands that pop up on my MP3 player from time to time that I forget about. Then I go on a kick and will only listen to them for like a week. The Distillers, Riddlin Kids, The Vandals, H20, Millencolin, Everclear, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Fenix TX, The Used, Saves the Day, Boxcar Racer, The Ataris, Unwritten Law. A lot of early 2000's (pop) punk stuff that makes me smile. I just went through my player and looked for names that made me think "Oh yeah, I need to listen to them"
hahaha, I figured that response would come up soon enough Ruby...it's just very nostalgic again though, I haven't listened to that band since high school. Yeah early 2000's punk(and rock) is definitely on my list. I feel a need to go back to that time, at the moment. And other times but that's a big one
He was getting popular when I was in high school. I was huge into Metallica in high school. Dave Matthews had no place in my in my musical catalog then or now. He's one of my top 3 least favorite voices to listen to.
I've been listening to the same music for the last 7 - 8 years. I was actually listening to internet radio the other day and realized they were playing all the same shit I've been listening to for years. It made me feel old. I haven't discovered a new band in a while, except for local bands. Before I got into the music I listen to now, I listened to a lot of the punk or pop punk stuff Ruby listed. Its not really my thing anymore though so I don't really think I would go back and listen to that. After my punk phase but before I discovered there was good new music out there, I mostly listened to the Grateful Dead exclusively, with a few other classic rock bands thrown in occasionally. I actually haven't listened to the Dead in a while. I should do that.
Lots of bands...! I have been listening to too much music in the last decade. I could not possibly listen everything on a regular basis. Also grow temporarily tired of some of course, some of those breaks can take years (Iron Maiden for example) but I definately not am tired of them forever. Most bands I've not listened to in years simply rarely fit my mood nowadays, others I have listened to intensively (the doors, perhaps Jimi Hendrix as well...).
Rarely any bands that I can think of that I loved when I was younger which I don't listen to at all now. However I used to be all about listening to an album and now I tend to just pick songs. Only band I can think of that I used to really like which I don't listen to at all anymore is Korn.
I have indulged in many genres and specific subgenres too.. So there is bound to be a shitload of bands I used to like but don't listen to at all anymore.
beatles, blue oister cult, cream, vinilla fudge, jefferson airplane, yes, emerald web, the association, moody blues, jethro tull, all of which, generally speaking are for the fairly obvious reason of they're mostly no longer existing. those were just the first ones i randomly thought of. there were a bunch of others from that era i had 8-trak cartridge tapes of. something i no longer have a player for, nor the tapes.
