i remeber back in the day playing the origional, lol it was one of the first games i saw where u needed 6 cd's to load it

it definatly had it's flaw's in gameplay as all the classes were pretty similar, but a great RPG nonetheless.

I loved the second one, but never really liked the first (I only played it in 2005 or something). Great games :)

Just started a new game for Baldur's Gate II last night. Seriously, might have to say, best game ever made. :cheers2:
Now if only my download of the first one would hurry the hell up!

Yeah, BG2 is one of my all time favourites ... great storyline and one of the few games where using spells ... often specific ones, was actually neccesary and useful.

I'm off to look for a planescape download though ... great atmosphere, and storyline too.

I'm playing BG2 again (even though I never actually beat it in the first place :p) and it kicks so much ass. It's what any RPG of that kind can aspire to.
    Favorite parties, anyone?

It's a shame Jahiera is so mutch a part of the story cause i think a druid is one class you don't need ... and then Imoen gets taken away for ages too .. you definitely need a high level mage and she's the best candidate ... sure there's Edwin but pure mages are so physically weak and die all the time ... plus he's evil. Party build is a hard choice. Jan and Kelgorn are good to have for some fun dialogue .. "Where men gather a gaggle of chaos ensues!" lol

I always used to cheat anyway and use a character editor (shadowkeeper) to alter classes and weapon proficiencys. I made a few spells and magic weapons too.

    Yea shadowkeeper is wonderful :)
Do you guys every use any of the mods?
Im actually thinking of starting yet another new game, same drow elf asassain but this time working
on being heroic. I always get tired of raising the reputation points and end up being rude and
chopping everyone up lol. But then again, Im also tired of Jahiera and Aerie and Imoen, so it's
a hard choice to make because I love Viconia. Oh well :cheers2:
And I downloaded the Tashia mod but when I entered Chapter 3 last night her name got messed up,
and when I tried to talk to her the dialouge doesnt appear, I think it's because I downloaded the TOB
patch to fix "[name] appears busy" bug I kept having and the story line wouldnt progess, as well as
    the unstakable vampire bug.
So Im thinking do a total uninstall and start over again, this time with just the patches and no mods,
Plus I entered chapter 3 without doing too many quests, which is pretty dumb, and I saved it, so yea,
    new game

Ranger/Cleric is an awesome class for a good range of druid and cleric spells plus a bit of fighting ability too.

baldurs gate is one of my favourites, though I dont think I could play it now. BG2 was a fair bit better than BG1 although originals always have something special about them :)

I never played any other similar RPG/turnbased/warrior game except diablo and diablo 2.. which are absolutely awesome but in a different way to BG. Diablo was a lot more about setting yourself up well and moving your character around well, using his skills at the right time

but baldures gate was more like.. strategy.. pause and work out all my characters objectives and coordinate them with pause unpause pause unpause, making every single action of theirs precisely decided and methodic
