I was Baha'i for some years. But now I'm not and therefor I'll be an equivalent to a blind or deaf person in the next plane of existence. *snirtles*
yes. it is simply the most current update, of the same religion as christianity, islam, judaism, and every update since adam of that same lineage. these updates come every thousand years, give or take a few hundred. they are the same god, choosing each time from among us, someone to be channelled by. Baha'u'llah, in 1863, was the most recent of these. this is not how the faith would say it, but rather my own synopsis of the concept. everything that is good and bad about christianity, judaism and islam, apply equally to the faith of baha'u'llah as well. the faith dates itself from 1844 however, when its forrunner, the bab, which means gate, began the revilation. he was exicuted before his outpooring was complete, and baha'u'lllah, beginning in 1863, finished the job. baha'is believe in another thousand years another one will come along, and a thousand years after that and so on, just as before. but anyone claiming such a revelation before then, before a thousand years after 1844, will not be the true revealer of the next "update". baha'u'llah's most outstanding claim being that all the major religions are of this same origen, each revealed in its time and place, according to the needs and understandings of the times and places in which they were. god is one, mankind is one, and belief, is all of the same one origin. the bab and baha'u'llah were literate, and wrote with their own hand. there are several legitimate websites, usbnc.org i believe is one of them. the international baha'i administration, located on mt carmel, in haifa israel, has one or more others. many of baha'u'llah's writings are available on line from these websites.
^yeah amen!^ I can say from personal experience that in the civil rights wars in the South in the '60s they were there on the front lines.
