ive looked online at all the official dont do drug websites. the only stuff against weed is stuff like " it could be dangerous if you are driving" and " there is no evidense, but being a chronic user may cause cancer". and drinking is worse than it. so why isn't it legal? i dont get it.
The only problem I see with it is when you're high and driving...but I have no idea why it isn't legal. Cigarettes and alcohol are much worse in my mind. I think the people just want to be dicks about it...
Because so many people do it, if they legalised it they wouldn't be able to tax it well because everyone will just grow their own. It's not like tobacco which is hard to grow or alcahol which is hard to make, unless you live on a sugar cane plantation.
back in the 1970s and even earlier, some doctors did tests on small animals with large amounts of marijuana. Alot of the animals died, so they said it could kill humans too. Well no shit, giving the small animals(most of them were rats, not nearly as big as humans) very large amounts of weed. Of course they are gonna OD. That is very not true for humans tho. Say it takes you one joint to get high. You would have to smoke 40,000 joints to die becuz of an overdose. But, you would have to smoke those 40,000 joints in about 15 minutes. Also, it is said that marijuana causes defects in people's reproductive organs. I think it was in the early 80s that another doctor injected large amounts of THC into specimens in peatry dishes, and instead of them dying they couldnt reproduce anymore. Well of course they wont, th equivalant of the THC injected into the specimens would be about 1000 pounds of weed smoked in a matter of hours. It has since been found that there have been no reproductive defects in humans who smoke weed. So yes the government lies. If you do not believe me I forgot which website I got this info but do a search on google with something like "effects of marijuana" as the search words, and its one of the first websites listed. Also, on the DEA official website, they have a whole lot of unproved bullshit "facts" about the dangers of marijuana. Check that out for some good laughs, but they got me kinda pissed off with the number of "facts" they have.

Yeah, all those propaganda stories of the terrible effects of marijuana are just a figleaf to the real hypocrisy anyway. The real reasons why it became illegal were racism and greed, never health risks.
Well I wouldn't say there aren't any health risks in smoking marijuana. I haven't been a user for more than a year and I can already feel how harshly my lungs have changed. If you say smoking weed won't damage your body, then you're just kidding yourself. But I go agree that it's much better than alcohol or ciggarettes.
if it was legal u know how many businesses wud fail? pain killers, sleeping tablets, some emotion-supressent drugs, alchohol market even. theres more i think theyd be the main ones tho. weed wud be so popular if it was legal caus it hasnt got physical side affects and ppl cud grow their own. if ti was legal i recon more than one in two wud have their own plant. caus if it was legal then msot ppl wudnt see it as an evil drug theyd see it as something acceptable like alchohol.
Man, the government is really messed up... somehow it doesn't sound right that they won't make marjuana legal because it'll be 'too popular'. Isn't that a good thing because they'll make money off it? I think that the money the pharmacies and tobacco companies are paying to keep pot illegal will be no where near as high as the money they'd make off pot if it was legal.
Yeah. If i remember this right,i think it was somethin jack herer said, the test animals on that first test you talked about were FOUR recuss monkeys. NOtice the small sample size. They only ones that died were one sthat were givin 400 times what the average consumption of thc for humans is. The ones taht had brain damage were given half that. (tho i could be wrong, somebody back me up.)
Oh yeah, i forgot to mention. The major reason why it is illegal becuase, like somebody said, alot of buisinesses would be put out, but not just pharmacuticals and alcohol/tobacco. Youve got to remember all the other 25000 known uses of cannabis. the oil industry, textiles, plastics, everything pretty much. they would all be destroyed by a small plant. and if you look into it, these companies are the main support groups of todays main gov. organizations. they pay to keep it illegal.
i could go on for hours about this...i wrote my senior thesis on the legalization of marijuana. reading and writing so much about it, all the while smoking a ton, made me practically over-educated on the subject. i agree with alice though...it definitely fucks with your lungs, and for that matter, a bunch of other parts of your body...but like everyone knows, so do cigarettes and alcohol; far more addicitve drugs, but for some reason, both legal. one of the things i can say about pot is that if a person is suffering from depression it can make it worse, or if they aren't depressed but it runs in their family, it can bring the depression in them out. that's really my only beef with mary...but depression is often so situational, that smoking is great for making you feel better right when you need to. a lot of what people have against pot are a bunch of ridiculous assumptions...some are true, but not for everyone...and to pin the same shit on every smoker is more ignorant than i can even describe. things like amotivation and problems with your family caused by smoking are possible, but not necessarily probable---i'll stop myself now, or else i'm gonna keep going forever and you'll all hate me.
shit yeah i forgot about that, eddie, textiles, all forms of fibre material, oils (oil form hemp seeds is like the best oil to consume) no one can compete with the textile industry caus thats the petroleum industry, and everyoen knows thats the msot powerful in teh world!
I also think that if marijuana was legalized, the number of users doing much harder drugs would come signifantly down. Instead of a person doing something like heroin or meth becuz his dealer is out of weed, he could just go down to the neighborhood head shop and get some much safer weed, which would be a life saver compared to those other drugs. also do not forget about the paper making indrusty. logging companies everywhere would go out of business if marijuana was legal, but many forests would be spared since marijuana would be made into paper. but, marijuana only fucks up your body if you smoke it. just bake it into some brownies or something that can be baked, and depending on the amount you mix in you will get more fucked up then from smoking weed, and you wont be inhaling that horrible smoke
