is a fenced backyard (6ft fence) to be assumed to be legally private? My wife is outside in the backyard naked all the time and I worry someone will see her and call the police. Any thoughts?
If it has a 6ft fence around that is most definitely the privacy of your own home, and even if someone were to call the police they couldn't do anything as she isn't breaking any laws (at least not in this country, but I'm in the UK) You should be perfectly entitled to not have clothes on in your own back yard, especially with such high fencing
I just had my back yard privacy fenced, and I don't worry if anyone can see thru the cracks. As far as I am concerned it is my back yard so what I do there is my business. If they don't like it, they; can look elsewhere. BaldEagle
I think I'd check the neighbours can't see- in the UK the police tend to respond to complaints of this nature, especially if it's a man naked alone.
My wife likes to be nude no matter where she is in the house our back yard... I'll check the local laws.. my neighbor is a priest.. oh and by the way.. my wife said she doesn't share
Looks like she's cleared to be nude.. SEC. 32.1004. PUBLIC NUDITY PROHIBITED: It is hereby declared a public nuisance and unlawful for any person to appear, sunbathe, bathe, walk, disrobe, or otherwise be nude in any public place except in an area expressly set aside for such purpose or in those portions of a comfort location, if expressly set aside for such purpose. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by fine of not more than $500 or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period of not more than six months, or by both fine and imprisonment.
if that is true then could one not be nude in the front yard as well? I think that would often be read as viewable from a public place even though it does not directly say it. the backyard could be deemed publicly viewable if it can be seen in from another property easily (ex: if it is on the lower part of a hill)
