Does anyone know a good website or book or can give me detailed instructions on how to create a functional back pack out of old jeans?
would love to know what you find. a have a couple pairs of old jeans that need to be recyled into something else.
at the moment I have found a GREAT! Market bag instructions, but I want a backpack because its hard to carry a market bag on a bike. Would you like the market bag instructions?
http://http://craftingagreenworld.com/2008/05/09/diy-upcycle-old-denim-into-market-tote/ I have just started the project, so far it is going well
I am in love with my market bags. I ended up taking my prettiest one and putting pockets, buttons and zippers on it. Now I use it as a shoulder bag. I get compliments at the farmers market all the time about my bags.
I found this: http://henriettashandbags.com/Craft_Ideas.html It might have what you're looking for- there is a list of free bag patterns on there. Do you want like a hiking backpack, or like a school backpack, or a drawstring one, etc? Anyway, that page is pretty comprehensive.
thanks! great site. I am not really to sure what kind of bag I am looking to make, I just like making bags basically, but I am thinking more of a school bag
i made a gym bag out of a pair of my brothers old jeans and lined it with fabric i had laying around.
