I have a friend who is having a baby shower and being the odd one that I am I wanted to make her something. She is punk rock and I don't even know where to start. She is having a boy and wants a keepsake. The only crafty things I can do are sew, wreaths, and modgepodge. Is there any ideas out there?

ok... going to promote someone here for a moment... try www.mypunkbaby.com for all ready made punk baby gear. The creator of the site is a mom... If its too expensive you can try some of the stuff out, ideas...

She makes these awesome crib sets, bumpers, comforter and sheets and they are in cute punk designs. If you can't buy it you can make it. What about mini baby bondage pants?

ps: I have my registry there. Maybe your friend could put a registry up there and recieve more baby punk gear! She def has some cute gear and I can't help but give a hard working mama a plug! lol

Ahah.. Okay, this isn't punk, per se, but you could adjust it however you want.

What I've done before for showers is a play mat/bag. You just make a circular mat(line it with cotton batten too for cushiness on the floor) and make loops all around it, so you can thread a strap/string through it. If you're good with sewing, you should be able to just figure it out and make it however you want.

The idea though, is to make a circular baby play mat for the floor, and then when you want to pick up the toys and go, you just stick them in the middle and pull the string up into a drawstring bag. :D It's rather nifty.

(Sorry I didn't explain too well.. If you are interested though, I'll draw you out a little guide. ahha. )

    yeah a tutorial woudl help
i was confused with the loops
is it like those one blankets that people make from fleece where they tie up the little parts that they cut into the blanket about 2 inches. do you know what i mean?

    here's a thought
    what do you think?
burp rags made out of plaid flannel (red and black) and then black on the back with bondage loops. (where would i get those?)
    i don't know
i will still have to think this one through
    i still have some time

lol its a cute site. My boyfriend is all out into the punk scene so he couldn't resist us making a registry there. Hes apart of their promotion crew and everything (gotta love a guy into being a daddy!). I think some of the stuff is pricey but most of it is fairly priced...
