This was a must see movie for me and probably a lot of others into the Marvel comic book movies. It was well-liked by 75% of the aggregate critics and by 89% or audiences, which was probably composed mostly of ppl for whom this was a must see movie.

The Avengers start with the team of Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Steve Rogers/Capt. America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Bruce Banner/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) making a raid on a Hydra outpost in some Eastern European country where Baron Wolfgang von Strucker (Thomas Kretschmann) has been making weapons using the scepter carried by Loki in the last movie.

He has also been experimenting on human weapons and has a gifted brother and sister Pietro Maximoff (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), who can move so fast he can't be seen, and Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), who can project destructive energy and also manipulate minds. These siblings also have a personal grudge against the Avengers.

Turns out the energy in the scepter is an artificial intelligence and when Tony Stark starts trying to unravel it, the A.I. manifests, builds itself a body and infiltrates the Internet. Thus the badass Ultron comes into existence and with his computer logical mind is out to end the Avengers.

The movie ran about 2 hours 20 minutes and they crammed a lot into it - to the point of sometimes being too frenetic. As you would expect, there is lots of action and big set pieces in play as the team battles Ultron and his minions of robots.

This movie also showed some more of the personal lives and romantic sides of Hawkeye and Natasha Romanoff that was rather unexpected.

Ultron's character design was very cool and it exceded my expectations in lots of ways. However I did not like how they gave him human-like eyes and a moving humanoid mouth. His face looked more human than Iron Man's for chrissake!
