Audio-books can be a more rewarding experience than printed books. A good narrator with a good voice and expressive inflexions can bring to the surface deep meanings that we may otherwise overlook when reading the print. And there's no substitute for the spoken word when it comes to Poetry. Poetry is meant to be heard not read. I had a Canadian Broadcasting Co. (CBC1) narration of the Poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay, and when that narrator spoke those lines, it was like her soft lips were carressing my ears.
