    Title says all.

    Also, what is Ego death?

And are these drugs addictive? I have heard they aren't but they can be alot of fun.

    check out www.erowid.org

Do alot of research then come back here if you have any questions

  3. I'd like to say when you're ready, but a lot of young teens have a large ego and think they can handle anything and everything. So I'd suggest waiting til you're about 18 or so and have a strong grasp as to who you are. I've learned the older I get and have to deal with the true reality, the more psychedelic drugs have meaning to me, this is something you will learn as you grow into the system we live.

    As for Ego death, it's something you can experience while on a strong trip, and possibly could change your life for the better. I'll refer to Urban Dictionary;

A loss of all that one holds to be apparent and truthful.

A loss of all that one makes out to be reality.

Mentally questioning reality, for what it is.

    Another world of reasoning.

Usualy experenced by hallucinogenic drugs, either Mushrooms (Psychobilin), Acid (LSD, 2C-I, 2C-E-B, etc etc) or trauma to the brain

It is the loss of apparent truths, and what MUST be taken as truth.

Sigmund Frued coined the word "Ego", he had something in mind that was far away from how the word is tossed about today.

As he classified, it is the epitimy one of the three mental states (Id, Ego, and the Superego) The Id being the primal area of consciousness, devloped as a child, only caring about itself and how to gratify any desire it has. (A baby crying, an infant screaming "MINE!" about things it's never seen before)

Out of the Id, the Ego grows as a person gets older. The Ego is how a normal "of age" human acts and thinks in everyday life, but it is based soley off of the Id, because the Id was the first state of consciousness to take in any information at all from the outside world. The Ego is not so selfishly seeking and recognizes that there is a larger picture, a world aside of itself; the Ego acts as censor to the Id, stopping and keeping in check the primitive desires for instand gratification, recognizing the larger picture, so to speak.
The final state of mental maturity is the Superego. The Superego is the highest state at which we have arrived in our evolutionary "progress." The Superego is an overseer, our conscience; and, like the Id, is something of which we are not conscious, not aware of at even the slightest, but is always present in thought.

It is a loss of the Ego and the ID, It is the Superego (An understanding of the world around you and what SHOULD be happening) lost by itself, with no previous truths to go off of.

Without these apparent truths one is taught in life, a person enters a state of absolute disbeleif.

    Instance;
it can sometimes be seen as a state of total confusion, not knowing why anything happens, why it should, or why you feel the need to want it to or not.

Usually occuring during an intense trip, seeming like it is the only answer and it will be how you live the rest of your life, but usually forgotten by the time one wakes up, not much unlike being in the mode.

If none of this makes sense, maybe someday it will :)

And no, psychedelic substances are NOT addictive, like that of cocaine or heroin.

    Peace

I'de say 16 is the best for this generation. A more mature tribal culture would be 13, while an less mature industrial culture is likely to have folks who are pretty immature till their 19.

Ego death is when you loose your sense of separateness from the outside world a merge with the universal energy. It's difficult to explain to those who have not experienced it.....but it is basically mystical union with the Godhead/Brahman/Ultimate Reality. Usually needs between 5-7 grams and some prior psychedelic experience to induce it.

Shrooms aren't addictive and are A LOT of fun. Some of your greatest euphoria on any psychedelic will be experienced on shrooms.....and little to no nausea (any nausea gone with pot anyways) so it is in a similur head space as oral dmt ayahuasca but as less nauseating as acid. Exellent psychedelic!

Take them as soon as you've researched them and have the best grasp on what they're like as you can. Don't take them looking to have fun. Only take them if you're truly willing to have everything you know and believe torn apart and replaced with something infinitely more beautiful and meaningful. Only take them if you're willing to be somewhat alienated from the rest of the world, at least until you get to the point where you realize that alienation is impossible. Recognize that you're opening a door that cannot be closed, and once you begin that process (which has really already begun), you're going to have to take the whole ride. There is no getting off. It's not a casual flirtation. It's not theoretical. It's something that will happen TO YOU, something you will experience, and something that has the power to COMPLETELY, and irreversibly, change your life.

Watch The Matrix, Fight Club, and I Heart Huckabees, read Through The Looking Glass and Be Here Now, and if you're willing to go through what the main characters go through, you're ready.

Whenever you consider yourself a fully developed human being, with no fear of the experiences at hand, then you are ready.

~ But don't be surprised when the aforementioned qualities are completely and utterly shattered ;)

    think.

If you are ready to jump off a building, have your face smashed into pavement, lose your job and your life and everything you identify with, and lose all grasp on what is real (which is what the main characters I was talking about go through), then yes, you ARE as ready as you'll ever be.

that makes sense, but from what i gather, ego death is GOING to be painful. how could someone, unless they have spent years preparing (and even that may not prevent it) not feel pain when being ripped from everything they've ever known?

i've never experienced ego death, but if i ever do, i fully expect it to be one of the most difficult experiences of my life, at first. of course, with death comes rebirth and i imagine that to be intensly beautiful, but death is never easy.

    okay, fair/ true.

but that only happens to the people who take these things with proper intent.

for people like this kid who are asking "when do i start doing drugs?"
ahh, they will probably live their entire lives without getting their face properly smashed into the ground (only in the sense we are talking about)

Did I say it wasn't going to be painful? :)
Being as ready as you can be doesn't take away the necessary pain. It just helps reduce the stupid, self inflicted pain.

Whether someone is psychologically ready to try a psychedelic drug or not is going to be different for everyone, but physiologically it is best if a person waits until at least 18, if not early twenties. There are still parts of the brain that are developing until this point and can be negatively affected by drugs. This came from my hippy Animal Physiology professor who I know uses some drugs recreationally and taught us the physical action on the brain at the neuron and transmitter level of many common recreational drugs which was very interesting.

Wait til at least the hormones stop raging. 18 maybe. It's nothing to be afraid of - but be cautious. I've never been on a really bad trip before (I've tripped several hundred times - I'm really old) but I have been with people who have and when they freak out your fun is over for the night!!

My first experience with ego death was the most wondrous and fantastic day of my life.

I had not spent years preparing. I had spent no time preparing. What helped me through it was recollections of eastern philosophy, zen, taoism, and movies I had seen, like the matrix.

You can laugh, but prismatism has it dead on. If you can watch something like the matrix, imagine you are in neos shoes, and be ok with what you're going through on a deep level, you're ready for ego death. It's of the same magnitude of experience; you lose your world and have to find out what the hell is going on around here.

But yeah, why on earth are you expecting your first ego death to be this giant terrible battle inside of you that will be difficult? Why not just expect it to be lolipops and giggles? Better yet, don't expect anything, and just hope you'll learn from it.
